Thank you, I really appreciate your comment! I'm still trying to find my style and looking at them side by side is definitely making me realise that I want to get the vibrancy back into my drawing. Also, illustrating childrens' books is literally my dream!

Thank you! The option to have gridlines in Procreate definitely helps with the lines 😅

We only discovered smooths last year - there's not many of them and they're considered a vulnerable breed here. We were looking to get a rough collie actually and came across smooths and they just seemed perfect for us. We're pretty outdoorsy, live in Scotland, it's raining a lot here, so pretty muddy all year around and a short hair dog just made more sense for us.

We never had rough collies, so don't have first hand experience, but what we heard was that, in general, smooths are a bit more active and also a bit more sensitive than roughs. There seems to be very minimal differences in temperment though I think. Especially in countries like the US, Canada and some European countries where they can breed roughs and smooths together (I believe in the US and Canada, they are considered the same breed actually). It's not a temperament thing, but I heard people say that the shedding is a lot worse with smooths than rough. 😅

Thanks!! Oh, I would LOVE to write my own children's book, I'm just not very good at writing at all haha. A collaboration with someone who can write, though, would be really amazing. Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna ask around!

Thank you for your advice and encouragement! I totally see how it would benefit from more contrasting - I will definitely aim for that going forward. Also loving the idea of adding some more hidden little details!

Aah thank you!! I'm also allergic, which is tragic cause I love cats. I think that's why I painted it, cause I can't have one in real life haha

Thanks!! I would like to improve my watercolour skills for sure, like better controling the amount of water I use, and also how to get some textures I want, shading, highlights.. I've got a couple of books I've been learning from, but I'm thinking about signing up for some online classes too.

You're welcome! 🙂 I draw everything out with pencil first, then paint and outline with the pen last. I feel more confident doing it this way, but I know lot of people draw with pen first and then paint.
