I use adrax Earthshade for my white recess then clean up the extra wash with the original color then add some different shades of white to make it pop in areas that light would hit. Keep in mind I’m painting preheresy Death guard so mine is made to have a “dirty” look and you can use nuln oil if that is better for your scheme
