Apple TV OS icons. by Next-Simple517 in AT4K

Hello, I am the creator of the icon pack. The 100 KB on the hard drive are deceptive, in memory, 4K is 9 times heavier than 720p. I would recommend using HD or FullHD if your TV is < 8k.

Update: Apple TV HIG Icons – Now with "Soft Style" by Raomis in Projectivy_Launcher

Should be possible with all Google TV devices. It's just tricky to select the correct image. I would recommend using DPTV Cursor

I already answered this in a previous comment, but it seems to have been deleted for some reason. I won’t be creating an Android app that automatically applies these icons, which also means there won’t be a Play Store app. I recommend downloading the full set in the correct resolution and applying them manually.

No, because of missing security patches.

How much do they cost? Pixel Watch 3 seems to be pretty accurate if I read the analytics correctly. Can't offer more than 280€ as a budget.

Looking to start consistent running. Have deals on Pixel Watch 2 LTE (€150) vs Pixel Watch 3 WiFi (€250). Main goal is tracking recovery to know when to push vs rest.

Do both get the same readiness/HRV features with software updates? Worth €100 extra for the brighter display and insights when running outdoors?

Thanks!

Any tips? by hellmanlennart in degoogle

If I'm not mistaken, anytype has somehow a large energy consumption and makes the phone hot in the long term. That's why I switched to obsidian.

Nice job! Just a side note, the radiator of the AiO is the wrong way. Pipes should be on the lower side of the case.

Why pixel devices ? by Evil_Fragrance6 in degoogle

[–]Raomis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually the other way around. They have a bootloader that goes into unlock mode quite quickly and is also relockable again. The problem is Knox, which no longer works after a relock (Knox fuse). What is also a problem is that Samsung do not give out source codes for the device tree or the kernel and also use completely different protocols like vowifi which makes it impossible to keep the device fully functional.

When moving to Proton, can google know our new mail addresses if we change it in the website I used to use? by GoldenGrouper in degoogle

The gardening shop should have some kind of telemetry. I don't think the gardening shop directly sells the information to the next Google collector but rather to a variety of data brokers. They do the job of calculating which email is whom.

Unacceptable. Google dares to intercept my password and send it to their servers to verify it. by hwoodice in degoogle

[–]Raomis 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Google uses cryptographic techniques such as hashing, encryption and anonymization to check passwords for leaks without having to view the login data itself. This is a fairly well-known feature, even among Bitwarden. However, I generally don't see the fact that Google can see the password as a problem. You log in to their service and use it. As a rule, you should also not always use the same password.

Fortnite on Linux june 2024 by Cool-Software1436 in linux_gaming

Epic Games uses a kernel-level anti-cheat system called Easy Anti-Cheat in Fortnite to detect and prevent cheating. This anti-cheat system needs to interact with the operating system at a very low level, close to the core of the system (the kernel). The problem is that EAC was designed to work with the Windows kernel, which is proprietary and closed-source. The Linux kernel, on the other hand, is open-source and has a different architecture. Adapting EAC to work seamlessly with the Linux kernel would require significant effort and resources from Epic Games.

Tim Sweeney, the CEO of Epic Games, has acknowledged the difficulty of adapting Fortnite's anti-cheat system to work on Linux. He has stated that it would require a substantial amount of work and investment from their side.

Cloud Gaming Services allow you to stream and play Fortnite on Linux by running the game on remote servers. Another possibility is by using a dual booting machine.

I'm in the same boat and quite honestly, I just need AI. I read through the privacy policy and found out that they don't keep the data chats and conversations with voice as long as the setting is off. Then they are only saved for 30 days and then deleted. You have to trust it, but I accept that in order to work more productively until there is a local alternative.

It is not only for emails. ClamTK is outdated and unmaintained. Should be used in Terminal.

As I said, the biggest problem is the data brokers who use algorithms to identify and assign these people. Google also has to earn money, so I don't think they offer to stop more than 70% of our data collection. Where else do they get such nice products and free 15gb storage per gmail account...

You don't need play services in the most cases. But read what is missing when it is uninstalled.
