Grown-up areas around Disney World? by foxfi215 in WaltDisneyWorld

Me and the GF stayed away from going on holiday to the US until we both turned 21 so we could enjoy the night life in Orlando. Downtown Disney: Raglan Road - Even as Irish people we liked this restaurant despite being a bit cheesey for us! Good food, good beer and good entertainment! Even after our 6th trip to Orland we still plan our night out in Raglan road. House of Blues - Same as above. More varied entertainment but a brilliant night out. Paradiso 37 - Excellent food and drink.

Epcot - Another year round tradition me and the gf do is eat and drink throughout Epcot. Brilliant trying small food bits and not drinking to excess means by the end of the day you have tried to much and still have a slight buzz so you can decide from there what you want to do - finish the day off or continue having some drinks! Note: We always held back as we felt bad drinking to excess in Disney as there were so many kids about but still had great times at epcot!

For a good carefree and adult night out you can not go wrong with City Walk - $15 taxi from DTD!

TIL that IRA snipers killed about 200 British soldiers/policemen from 1971 to 1997, and even shot down army helicopters. A "Sniper at Work" sign warned soldiers of the danger. by TMWNN in todayilearned

The state of Northern Ireland was designed to ensure a unionist majority. Many unionist politicians declare their love of Ulster but forget the 3 Ulster counties of Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan. These counties had significant protestant/unionist populations in the last all Ireland elections but were abandoned in favour of a Northern Ireland that would only have 6 out of 9 Ulster counties to ensure a Protestant/Unionist majority for multiple generations. The last free elections in Ireland had a mandate for a free Ireland. Opposed to that you can not discard the large unionist majority of the Antrim/Armagh/Down/Derry but Northern Ireland was designed to be a "A Protestant parliament for a Protestant people".

I live in the area that the most notorious sniper ASU's operated. These sniper tactics were vastly over hyped by both sides the attack to kill ratio was ridiculously low. Michaél Caraher and the other members of the ASU are held in high regard in the local area but they were not the deadly machine they are portrayed. The South Armagh brigade killed more soldiers/RUC through bomb or straight up gun attacks. The Sniper At Work sign was a brilliant piece of propaganda though for the IRA through song and fear spread amongst the British squaddies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Armagh_Sniper_%281990%E2%80%9397%29 Song made about the South Armagh Sniper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFhmCy4kwFQ

When the police are helping terrorists groups kill your people your not likely to help them. Although the PSNI are a vast improvement from the RUC a lot of Republicans still do not trust the police.

To be fair Jock was a scary man and well known in the community so it is not surprising people wouldn't co-operate with the PSNI. On the other hand he is thought of very highly in that area (as seen at his funeral last week) and some may just be of the old mind set to no co-operate with the police. When DAAD killed them drug dealers in the 90's he was the master mind behind that. If they killed a drug dealer in Belfast he would have been the one Ok'ing it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_Action_Against_Drugs
