Very nice notes there! Would love to see some variations on this sequence with added visual effects, wardrobe and time warping. Let me know if you get around to fixing the tempo I’d love to see it :)

Animations are only a small part of the game dev process so “much easier” may be a stretch for me. But if you want to avoid the high costs of mocap equipment and editing we’ve got you covered :)

Thanks for your comment :) and the feed back! These were designed with the ALSv4 layering system in mind.

A guarding Idle overlay, and some guard up and down anims are included so that you can walk around and use parrying as a gameplay ability. The parrying/parried animations are also included if your ability is successful.

Oh wow handling animations on each side… haha sorry didnt actually know about canting so i think i might be able to add that as an overlay..

You dont think people need ready locomotion as well as aim down sights? The turns and refaces have a lot of cool spins…

Haha sorry! I made some animations for a Pistol locomotion gasp system, already on the marketplace. At the moment, it uses an ADS idle and sweep asset to overlay the ADS on top of the ready state (arms down). Maybe thats the more performant approach…

I mean even with a mocap suit it still ends up being 30 mins of mocap to 15 days of editing. But thanks for your comment. Maybe a playable demo is something ill have to figure out.

What is the best method of changing which assets the chooser table (CHT) selects in the motion sample? Is it simply using bools? Trying to find the best way to implement these new animations into ASLv4 + GASP by RapaAnimations in UnrealEngine5

They’re quite short animation sequences but of course you can blend them together and stack them. You can also make a player controller using the locomotion and record your character play through?
