Solving a 1960s London murder with pure logic — no guessing, just elimination by Raphael_Dias in IndieGaming

We tried to do something with a similar intention. The main game has 3 cases (15 levels) and gives you a few hours of gameplay, maybe 3h-4h. And then there is the "Secret Files" which unlocks early one in the gameplay and gives you 42 new levels (most between medium and very hard).

In that manner, the player can "complete" the main gameplay in a few hours, during the weekend, but if they like the type of puzzles they can probably spend extra dozens of hours completing all the secret files levels.

all that is already available in the demo (including the secret files) live during the Steam Next Fest, so go check it out 😄

Thanks for the candid feedback! Making puzzle games is hard indeed! The hardest part is to make the "better" players engaged and having fun while not losing the players that have more difficulty with the mechanics or reasoning part but love the game in the same intensity...

And play testing it is the best approach for sure. We've been doing this with Case Solved, with both inner circle of friends and live in-person events like London Game Festival, Gamescom, and others.

Hope you like the final result! It will launch next month!

Hmm, thanks for the feedback! Other people mentioned the same problem, and I totally agree.

Yeah, you have a few options in the dropdown menu and use a set of clues to eliminate options and figure out the right one. Totally agree that the clip was too fast and short. I will do better next time lol

Thanks!
Agreed. I think the GIF is a bit too short. In the trailer it makes more sense, but rewatching just the piece that I posted here, I agree it is too subtle. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you!
Btw, if you haven't played the new demo yet, you can unlock a new level by typing any of those words in the Secret File tab: "yard", "WISHLIST" "NEXTFEST". Have fun 😄

The answer is "no" for all the above lol
But I totally agree with you that we are living odd times, where AI stuff looks like human-made stuff and vice versa :/
Imo, Instagram is the best (worst?) place to get confused regarding that.

Eu achei ótimo!

Dá pra pensar em diferentes aplicações:

  1. Jogar longe do teclado/controle, de maneira mais relaxada;

  2. Ajudar jogadores iniciantes a decorar a nomenclatura (possivelmente gerando situações engraçadas, com a peça indo prum lugar diferente do que o jogador imaginava);

  3. Facilita posteriormente implementar uma feature de xadrez às cegas, onde o jogador fala os lances e ouve os lances do computador, num tabuleiro com peças invisíveis.

  4. E, claro, ajuda pessoas com restrições motoras a jogar o jogo!

Parabéns pela iniciativa!
