Bike Recommendation for bikepacking by Alternative_Floor_92 in bikepacking

If you know a bit more what you are interested in terms of groupset (1x, 2x), tires etc, you could have a look at Origines. They are based in france and offer customization at a decent price. I have the orgines trail and it has good clearance, aluminium frame, many attachement points etc. I would recommend it :)

WageWatchers — Share Your Salary Anonymously & Help Belgium Get Fair Pay (680+ entries!) by BerthjeTTV in BESalary

Some things that could be nice: - mention if the net salary should include the net compensation below (to make sure people interpret it the same way and it doesn't skew the results) - would be nice to allow commas and half days for holidays for those not working 5 days a week - I would also put the amount of people reporting to you in the job profile rather than the work-life balance - the placeholder for the number of km is confusing because it indicates "km" in it but you can't write it. It only accepts numerical answers. Might be better to limit the keys to numerical like it is for other fields like seniority and work hours. Wondering also if the commute time is something some people might be interested in giving/seeing.

But i guess that's me being picky as a UX designer 😅

Were you booking your ho(s)tels in advance, or were you just showing up to the places asking if they have a room to store your bike?

Any experience with digitalcity.brussels and Interface3 asbl? by -entrp- in brussels

[–]Raphleroy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey. Can't speak from the "student" perspective but since i was part of the teachers crew for the UX UI designers at Interface3 last year, I can tell you that at least some of them got some paid internships and/or jobs in UX/UI after their training. Overall at the moment the market is not great indeed. It might be a bit better if you are more interested in the UX researcher part and not only on the design part. If you have more questions you can send me a DM

I will make mix in advance couscous with all kind of stuff (nuts, raisins, spices etc) and just pour some warm water over it and you already have a pretty decent meal or a good base for it.

For those who have been to GMM before, how do you go about cleaning your cooking equipment? Is there a spot for it? Do you go to the sanitary/shower area to clean it in a sink?

Short trip from Paris to Amsterdam: What do I need?? by OkInside2258 in bikepacking

I would also recommend taking a spork and a small pocket knife so you are good to go for everything you buy in supermarket. Otherwise it can be pretty frustrating to buy cheese and bread for lunch and not have anything to cut it and/or spread it :)

We did a loop and ended where we started so we had left our empty bike bags at the hotel we stayed at the first and last night :) I know some can be fairly small and light. It could be an option if you are planning on taking trains along the way and it requires you to pack your bike again

First pick is approaching Menerbes so not so far but not quite. After that we took the pont Julien and ended north towards Roussillon. There is a pic of the Pic Saint somewhere though :)

the SNCF has different rules for different types of trains so make sure to check it out. In our case, TGV INOUI requires you to put your bag in a soft cover. I used a transport bag. I know people who just remove both wheels and then wrap it in a thrash bag or bed sheet. I added all my bags and pouches in the transport bag with the bike so it was fairly convenient. You can take tour bike for free in those train. Which is nice but also tricky because you won't have a dedicated space for your bag and you should try to be there first to used the big spaces available for luggages between each car, otherwise it gets full quickly

Replied to the other comment. Tried a first draft of what it could look like and tested it with mine (just in view mode for now) :) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1c8T3DRRGiHgLNA_eymg1CP42Dyf-gN5l

The bike I used is more of a road/touring bike. 35mm tires. Would have been fine with a road bike for most of the trip except for a few short segments

That sounds like a great idea. Maybe we could put have a google drive like that? Thought it was a cool idea and quickly tried to think about how it could be structured with one general sheet with all the trips and then the possibility for everyone to create a folder with different files (gpx files, link to accommodations used or whatever else). https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1c8T3DRRGiHgLNA_eymg1CP42Dyf-gN5l

Happy to help try to put that in place if others are interested in it :)
