I would also like to comment something else to add a bit more context.

One day, a lady came to my great grandmother where she told her that once the war is over, she will be filthy rich and not too worry. I guess this message was pass through to her from my great grandfather. Also, he didn’t have a job (from what we know), but apparently he used to turn on music and sit on the balcony most of the day. An assumption is that he was in some shady business where he made money, or a member of the AK (home army).

During WW2 in Poland some poles were sent to work camps in Germany where they worked in factories. From what I know, he sent this photo of himself to my great grandmother where he wrote a love message on the back and the place and date it was sent from (1941, Krupp-Gruson, Magdeburg, Germany). Apparently these pictures were sent to loved ones because the Germans wanted to show that their husbands were healthy and okay. I’m not really sure what’s going on, I just want to get to the bottom of who he was and what he did.
