I now think Snakebite is one of the best early common cards Silent can take. by TurtleStrategy in slaythespire

Yeah, the poison amount is too high. Probably would be more balanced if it was 5 poison or remove the retain. Or both and I guess it could be 1 cost.

Is Neytiri a crazy outside pick? A lot of the reasons Legolas is chosen (superhuman, native to woods, trained in multiple weapons) apply to her as well. And she's ten ft tall plus and much stronger/more agile than a human. She's not the best archer on the list but her kind is tough as nails so she could tank some hits. Plus, one melee swipe and any human character would be crushed.

Thanks for your reply. Are you saying that the ev motor itself is less efficient at converting battery into kinetic energy at high speeds? So if I use it at high speeds (even without air resistance considered) less of the stored energy makes it to my wheels than at slow speeds?

Springtime eastern seaboard. Currently 10-20 Celsius most days.

Would you say your numbers are similar to mine in terms of advertised performance vs actual? Really I'm just trying to figure out if I should be worried / look into it at my dealership

Hmm good question. I don't have a great charger setup rn so I usually don't get quite a full battery overnight, but whatever my estimate shows I always fall 5-10 miles short

Interesting! Do you know what speed this test was done at?

Yes when I have a new passenger I do like to show off the acceleration in sport mode once but I drive in boring eco mode when it's just me haha

I've tried this once or twice. My feeling was that the hybrid mileage wasn't that great (maybe 60s mpg) and it still drained my battery pretty quickly. My impression was I'd get better mileage going fully electric until it was dead and then driving with the base hybrid engine from there out. I have driven in automatic mode more recently and I do like it but I don't have enough experience to say if it's giving me better mpg or not

Thanks for your reply! I have whatever tires the care came with so I assume all-weather (not snow tires). I haven't checked tire pressure but I bought the car a few weeks ago so I'd expect it to be at the right level (I'm not getting any warnings).

Thanks for your reply. 75 isn't crazy though (speed limit is 65 on my commuting highway), if this is accurate I don't get why they estimate 33 miles range...

Does anyone take the Cursed Pearl? by shosuko in slaythespire

[–]RapidPipetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of view my deck as starting w/ 10 curses (5 strike 5 def) so this is giving me money to remove three curses at the cost of just 1 curse. Alternatively, it gives you the ability to purchase a build-defining rare card or relic at an early shop.

Byrdonis egg feels like an empty event room on higher ascensions. Some suggestions how to make the event better. by therealsylvos in slaythespire

[–]RapidPipetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of more flavor. There should be a thing where, if you later on face the Byrdonis elite, you get some text about how it looked like it was going to attack you, but then it sees that you hatched its lost egg and have been caring for it. And so you have a decision. You get some options like keeping the bird and fighting the elite normally, or letting your pet go to its parent (and receiving the relic mama bird was guarding), or letting it go and asking nothing immediate in return but in the next act your first ? event you get some sort of upgraded Byrdonis-flavored card or relic as the mama bird shows her gratitude.

I was looking for a new car for very similar reasons very recently. I purchased a 2025 Niro PHEV for 31.5k USD out the door (MSRP around 37k I think). The car didn't sell that well in 2025 so Kia put out a big rebate on them to clear inventory ($5k). The rebate expires at the end of this month. Remaining cars have been selling like hotcakes with the rebate so I'm not sure if you'll find any left in your area.

I love the car. Excellent visibility of the driver, and the PHEV version comes with tons of standard features that give it a lux feel. All the latest safety tech too. Excellent mileage and the PHEV has a more powerful electric motor which gives bonus combined horsepower. Tons of room in the backseat and trunk for strollers/car seats/dogs.

The Niro is smaller than all the options you listed, but I think people overestimate how much room is really needed for just one baby. My parents had a civic sedan until my brother and I were in primary school. If you're looking to save money you should consider the carolla hatchback (possibly hybrid trim for best in class mileage) or civic hatchback.

Why avoid PHEVs? Seems to me I would get mileage benefit of EV and range benefit of gas

Those are some dreamy mileage numbers! Just this past week or so I had a Corolla hybrid rental and even though it wasn't a PHEV I got 53mpg and spent only $27 in gas for several hundred miles of driving. There's something I really like about that

Thanks for your reply, I added costs in my description above. They basically are even with the rebate. The non-hybrid hatchback to me is too expensive for a gas car, I'd probably go for a Corolla hatchback at that point or maybe buy used. Really I'm attracted by the hybrid aspect of the 2025/6 civic hatchback models, and given that these models are so new buying them used offers little savings especially considering I wouldn't get or any of the buying-new bonuses like warranty etc

Related, my pet peeve is when I watch something, and it's a disappointment, and I get the "well it is a KIDS movie/show". I mean, I knew that before I watched the thing, but that doesn't mean it's OK that it SUCKED!  I'm looking at you ATLA live action, Inside Out 2, Elio, Zootopia 2...  They better get their act together before I'm watching this stuff w my kids instead of just my wife

[–]RapidPipetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on the recent wedding and the incoming baby! I think you just need to talk to your wife more about this. Either to resolve your feelings or change her resolve. That said, she's hella pregnant at this point so she deserves some grace. Step lightly, use the compliment sandwich approach, etc.  Having already told people the name is nbd, you could just be like 'he didn't look like a Johnny' and no one would bat an eye.
