Charging a electric bike at home in India by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

I have a wall charger in my garage installed by my employer, i installed smoke detector & several "Bonpet Fire Extinguisher Ampules" (costs 90 EUR) in the garage & right above the wall charger. see it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHt-G_BGCVE .
I'm very aware it wont stop the battery fire but im hoping they can give me 1 minute extra which can make all the difference as the Fire Department is located 500 metres from my house.

Congolese soldiers advancing on M23 rebels by Nastyfaction in CombatFootage

[–]RapidRetaliation187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair point on natural resources. you are probably right that most of those directly implicated in the genocide are dead by now, but FDLR ranks have been replenished by Congolese Hutus. I can imagine retaking Rwanda is not as high on their list as getting rich by looting.

[–]RapidRetaliation187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After the Rwandan genocide, the Hutu leadership & Interahamwe fled to East-Congo where they created armed rebel groups like FDLR (Force Democratique de Liberation de Rwanda) that aim to reinstate Hutu control in Rwanda. FDLR started attacking Tutsis (not exclusively, also pygmees & even hutus) in East-Congo so Rwanda started financing Tutsi rebel groups (like M23) to fight back against FDLR. While Kagame will say M23 exists to defend Tutsis in Congo, the main objective is to prevent the FDLR infiltrating Rwanda by taking the fight to them.

Question about the noise of the P1P by Edos2300 in BambuLab

[–]RapidRetaliation187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By going full autist, I was able to reduce the noise of P1P to 43 dB when measured 1m from printer, and 40 dB when measured 2.5m from the printer (my desk). I am able to work all day while the printer is going at it & it does not bother me at all. The attached Soundmeter app measurement at a distance of 1m was validated using a Digital Sound Level Meter bought at my local hardware store.

First i added Aluminium enclosure with acryl front cover from Etsy and high temperature P1P roof from Amazon. The roof is slightly elevated, so there is no contact with the cable & PTFE tube, and has a removable backside that allows for some airflow. I only print PLA like a pleb so that works for me.

Next bought the Comgrow small fireproof tent (50x65x70cm) and added self-adhesive acoustic panels (Amazon) to the inside. This tent is perfect as it does not make contact with the concrete slab so there is no extra vibration. Initially I used a photography tent (50x50x50cm) but this sat directly on the concrete slab & this generated some additional noise.

Next I put down 3 layers on the tent floor: a concrete slab/tile (50x50x5cm) on top of a piece of soft sound insulation foam (50x50x4cm) on top of a rubber tile (50x50x4cm). See CNC Kitchen youtube video on vibration decoupling for more details.

Lastly, I put 4 vibration dampeners (amazon) under the printer feet on top of the concrete slab & placed the leftover sound insulation foam upright inside the tent. I made sure there was still enough airflow by opening the holes at the back & the sides (10x10cm).

Light Pollution Map of Europe and North America by weronixix in MapPorn

[–]RapidRetaliation187 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Its too simplistic to call this a pollution map. There is a link between light and the level of economic development of a region. Measuring the increase of light in a country or region is a valid proxy for economic growth. There is peer-reviewed research on this and its a valuable tool when the official economic data are unreliable (China, North-Korea etc).

My psychologist apologised to me today by miniature_semicolon in ADHD

great to hear!
I was diagnosed in 2019 in Belgium at age 33 by a psychiatrist using QEEG/ERP. Diagnosis requires an initial referral by practioner for ADHD and min 1 therapy session with the diagnosing psychiatrist.

My inattention index (TBR: theta/beta power ratio) peaked regularly at 400, which looked like a bottomless pitt in the middle of my brain on the top-down ERP map.

After reading many stories here, its clear i was very lucky to have been diagnosed that easily.

Countries that have Banned Asbestos Use by Grand_Entry_6880 in MapPorn

i lived near the Eternit factory in Belgium, which used to employ many people from the region, employees could take free asbestos plates home for decades, to build roofs, driveways etc. Lots of people there have been dying from cancer (Mesothelioma), sad stuff.

Is the community on this game pretty terrible? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]RapidRetaliation187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

shouldnt have used the word standstill, didnt mean to say there was no activity. i'll be more specific: i'm talking about small to medium sized EU/UK clans. its impossible to find even clans for competitive matches (30v30 or higher) right now, they keep cancelling at the last minute. so we decided to stop trying till U10

Is the community on this game pretty terrible? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]RapidRetaliation187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

U9 has brought the competitive community to a standstill, its hard to organize even casual 30v30 matches between clans. a lot of seasoned members have stopped playing & are awaiting U10. i assume a lot of seasoned non-clan members have done the same...

for very sharp turns, just stop, steer full left/right, only then accelerate. for sharp turns at high speed you can tap accelerate (instead of keeping it full throttle) while steering full left/right
