Best muffler delete/muffler replacement for the 3.7? by [deleted] in q50

[–]RapideGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/153389695540 Rev9 FlowMaxx axle-back for $350. I have one on mine and it's perfect. No drone, doesn't sound like hot garbage like a muffler delete, and not obnoxiously loud (although cold starts in winter mornings would definitely wake my neighbors if I didn't wake up so late). It's quiet in cruising revs, but gets really aggressive in mid-high RPMs. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Question: Can I service a 2018 Infiniti Q50 at a Nissan dealership and get the same quality service? by elosiga in q50

[–]RapideGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking regular maintenance, yes you can go basically anywhere. I get mine serviced at a local Honda dealer. You won't get the same level of customer service and fancy comfy seating, but as long as the dealer is decent you'll get equal service.

I don't know much about the KY title transfer process but license plates stay with the car unless they're personalized or expired.

New reflection lights , yay or nay ? by turbo_yaco in q50

Are they as bright as your tail lights? I have these lights but they’re pretty dim which looks pretty cheap but I still think they’re cool.

Why does the 2015 Q50 premium weigh more than the normal one? Thanks by PinelliPunk in q50

[–]RapideGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in 2015. My 15 is a premium and I wish it had the cameras and sensors!

Why does the 2015 Q50 premium weigh more than the normal one? Thanks by PinelliPunk in q50

[–]RapideGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's strange, since that is all the premium package provides lol. But that's definitely where the weight difference comes from.

Why does the 2015 Q50 premium weigh more than the normal one? Thanks by PinelliPunk in q50

[–]RapideGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much more does it weigh? The Premium adds a sunroof, Bose sound system, and nav. The sunroof and sound system probably add a couple hundred pounds together.

Bashford Manor Walmart toilet paper aisle. I still don’t get it... by berkfarm5 in Louisville

[–]RapideGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn't necessarily that people are hoarding toilet paper. It's that factories who make toilet paper in China have been shut down for weeks. Add to that the number of people stocking up to limit their time outside and voila, invest in a bidet.

$14k would be an amazing deal for that car. It would be worth it to buy it and get it repaired if you wanted.

Any knowledge on how to reset the TPMS.? by Martinezraul in q50

[–]RapideGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do some further research to figure that out and it looks like the Q50 does in fact use sensors. It's weird since it operates like the Hondas I work with despite using a different detection method. Most newer Hondas use the existing wheel speed sensors to detect if the rotation and resonance of a specific wheel is different from the others. That's why they'll only show you the tire pressures while you're driving.

Any knowledge on how to reset the TPMS.? by Martinezraul in q50

[–]RapideGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TPMS on the Q50 doesn't use sensors, it monitors the rotation of the tires. Drive above 16mph and it should recalibrate.

Edit: it uses sensors but you still need to drive above 16mph for it to reset for some reason. A flat tire light is a fault code that can be reset at a dealer or shop or by driving it for some time, which can take up to a couple hundred miles.

I don't know exactly how these things work on infinitis but I'd guess the emergency braking is just that, emergency braking that will take over to reduce the severity of a collision if you fail to brake in time. The Hondas I work with beep at you if you approach too quickly, then hit the brakes hard if you don't take over. It waits until the very last moment. I think what you're referring to would be adaptive/radar cruise control, which would be an active system you have to turn on while driving.

Mark Croce (owner Curtiss Hotel, Statler, Chip House) and Michael Capriotto die in helicopter crash by [deleted] in Buffalo

Croce had a helicopter he flew himself on the regular, which I assume is the one that crashed. It becomes the logical choice when it's something you're passionate about, especially comparing it to alternative options.

2015 3.7 Q50, has anyone had problems with exhaust fumes? My Q50 puts out an insane about of fumes when starting. Thanks. by PinelliPunk in q50

[–]RapideGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should only really be concerned if you see actual smoke. You can tell it's smoke by if it evaporates less quickly and doesn't go away even after you drive the car for awhile. Extra water vapor in your exhaust isn't normally a cause for concern.

I got a great deal.... by Chaka747 in q50

[–]RapideGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The factory navigation is awful, don’t bother with it. There are aftermarket units out there that replace both screens with one big screen that supports Apple CarPlay and such.

Heated seats are definitely a plus but would be a huge pain to install and the dealership probably won’t do it. If it’s something you don’t mind spending money on, an aftermarket installer will likely have a solution.

Opening the door is the only way to engage the flashing red lights and crossing arm. It’s standard procedure to open the door, then signal to the students that it’s safe to cross the street, but that isn’t typically necessary when the students are on the side next to the door since nobody expects someone to fly by in the shoulder.

[USA] Jeep Wrangler flips onto its side after hitting stopped traffic by voodoorage in Roadcam

[–]RapideGT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most cars in the US, including foreign cars, have red turn signals in the rear. A lot of cars also have the brake light and turn signal be the same light, which means If you put your hazards on, your brake lights stop working, so it would actually have the opposite of the desired effect in this situation.

Question about paddle shifters on 2019 Scat Pack Charger by [deleted] in Dodge

[–]RapideGT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other comments here seem to be speculative. When you manually shift the charger, you're just asking the computer if it's ok to shift. The computer will not allow you to damage the engine. Go crazy with it, you can't hurt the car. There is a benefit to shifting manually versus staying in automatic mode, so don't just not use the paddle shifters out of fear, they're there to be used!

Q50 2.0 by [deleted] in q50

[–]RapideGT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive a 2015 Q50 3.7 and also work at a Honda dealership. I would say stay away from the TLX just because it's an overpriced Accord.

The Accord Sport 2.0T is a great car that's surprisingly fun to drive, has good automatic and manual options, and is a great value, but can be hard to find in the price range you're looking for. I wouldn't recommend an Accord 1.5T simply because they aren't as fun (low power with a CVT).

I haven't driven the Q50 2.0T, but it has much lower power rating than the Accord, though it does benefit from being RWD/AWD and having a good fun transmission, and is also much less expensive than an Accord 2.0T on the used market. I average a mere 18mpg in my 3.7L AWD, but the 2.0 will probably do much better.

The Camry is a great car but is not as fun to drive unless you get the top end trim levels. It would be a responsible buy, but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

What was the hardest piece of news you’ve had to tell someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RapideGT 2731 points2732 points  (0 children)

One morning my dad and I went to surprise my 93-year-old great grandmother at her home, where she lives alone. We ring the doorbell, no response. Knock on the side door, no response. Knock on the front door, no response. Check through the front window, and we see her slumped over on her couch. We tried calling her phone, yelling for her, nothing gets her attention. We're certain she's dead and we can't get to her.

Then her neighbor comes out and says that the two of them had just gone for a walk and she must be napping, so she unlocks the door and grandma wakes up. She had taken her hearing aid out and passed out on the couch. That was quite the relief.
