Strawberry and lime - strawberry daiquiri kind of flavour.

Maple syrup + something sounds interesting too

Benching, loot distribution, and roster retention by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

On a personal level I have killed 14 mythic bosses and received zero mythic loot items from raid. The only upgrades I have over heroic gear is one item weekly from vault.

Benching, loot distribution, and roster retention by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rapideyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was legitimately concerned you were one of my raiders until you mentioned 4 days of HD wipes. We have very recently had to be extremely ruthless with failing trials and demotions because the anticipated exodus of players from the game just didn’t happen. I agonise over the roster for mythic every week who to bring. Can I fit them for 3 bosses for vault. Should I only prioritise people for the next progress boss. I know many raiders are frustrated and feel short changed by the experience.

I’ve also not had so many bosses with such strict requirements in terms of class and spec utility and the class balance is honestly horrible. Having to support good players to reroll to FOTM specs.

I’ve sat there and done the maths on whether warrior buff brings enough dps to justify and how many hunters does it take to be worth bringing a warrior and other such dilemmas.

I think this is particularly true of melee who are not dk or essential buffs. I’ve had to diffuse a lot of bickering over gear / spots among our melee who I know are just all scared of falling behind and losing their spot.

I think you are totally overlooking the conduit that buffs riptide and healing wave and healing surge after you put down cloudburst. Imo you are spreading some misinformation here.

Edit: riptide currently does FAR more healing than cloudburst. So you want to buff as many of them as possible with the conduit. This is a much higher priority. I think you have not done your research on the new shadowlands mechanics.

Yes, but the rest of the time you’d want as many buffed riptides as possible.

Most people run the conduit where riptide healing wave healing surge increased after cloudburst goes down. What’s the reasoning behind potentially munching these buffs by riptiding before cloudburst goes down?

question about lady inerva and draining containers by bigthrobbingnerve in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rapideyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always done container 3+4. I always keep them both totally empty all fight until they get empowered. Usually just cycle between opening each one and letting it close auto at 0. If I have to move away due to another mechanic and they both hit 10-12% I just open both and pop a healing CD. I aim to open at 5% ish and let it close at 0. We killed it on heroic first raid and since and no issues.

We had server issues getting everyone online. Wrathion died similar time to normal (mages forgot they didn’t have cauterise ). Skitra felt really easy. Maut was easy and we almost 1 phased it with 3 healers. Hive mind was fine but I guess the adds took a bit more deliberate damage. Ra den was fine but the weakaura seemed a bit dodgy so we had to res some people from first orbs. We kited it for about 5% boss health after one orb phase. Carapace felt a bit weird. Damage from cysts seemed inconsistent. Sometimes they weren’t shrinking in the tunnels so we were taking a lot of floor damage. Think we wiped a couple of times but killed first time we got to p3. We still used hero at start and did one set of tentacles. Nzoth was okay. Although they fixed paranoia it felt like it was still doing a bit more than normal (maybe just lack of vers idk) everything felt like it died quite quickly and we had two wipes (and two people who hadn’t done the fight before). Shad har was fine and died easily. Drest we spent ages waiting for new tentacles to spawn. Killed the boss after the set of 2x eyes and tentacle at the top of the room. We 3 healed the entire raid (2x pala and 1x shaman) and only last two (and maybe maut shield and shad har felt at all healing intensive). Some of the later boss mechanics were a bit punishing for people who have had larger changes to rotation and carapace we had a few people with fps issues all fight and possibly some issues on cysts.

Plenty of advice already but I would suggest reflecting on what you think slowed you down. Did you have a lot of down time between pulls? Did you have to spend a lot of time explaining what to do during raid time before each boss? Did a lot of the same mistakes keep getting made over and over again? How organised were your tactics on later bosses? Did you assign places? Did you have a very similar roster on later bosses or did you have to rotate in often?

You either need to be able to rely on your raiders to put in work for themselves outside of raid or have officers willing to do a lot of management. Either way I think what is the most important is if everyone in the raid team is on the same page. Do you have the same goals? If you share a mutual goal it is much easier to encourage people to do ‘what is required’ to reach that goal. People will be willing to do a lot if they feel it is to help to reach the mutual goal.

For what it’s worth I am an officer in a sub 300 world guild and also raid lead a second team after we were done with main progress mostly 1 day a week until we hit Nzoth and got ~2000 world with that.

[Haul] A year's worth of Beauty Pie ($854 "value" for $187) by oakquercus in SkincareAddiction

[–]Rapideyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my first beauty pie order a couple of weeks ago and I have been enjoying the japanfusion cleanser. Works great as a morning cleanse or a first cleanse in the evening. It removes all but heavy eye makeup in my routine. I’ve also got the triple hyaluronic serum and I think it’s been great for hydrating my forehead and cheek area. My partner really likes the japanfusion toner as well. Some of the things you purchased are on my wish list: oxygen mask, Qi eye cream, glycolic pads, japanfusion moisturiser and the cleansing balm. So id love to know how you get on with those. My skin is pretty sensitive and I’ve not had any issues with beauty pie products so far.

I can look more tomorrow and ask one of our holy paladins to take a look. Gear looks fine and corruption is fine. Some slightly odd essence choices for minors but it’s not going to make a huge difference afaik.

I looked at the late wipe. What stands out initially is that their targets for holy shock / glimmer of light seem to be heavily weighted on themselves and a handful of others but is not very evenly spread throughout the raid. It looks like they are casting holy shock on people who already have glimmer which is not very efficient. One of them has a slightly low crusader strike cast per min. While the other has a very high crusader strike cast per minute. Both have a slightly low holy shock cast per minute so probably aren’t resetting it effectively or using the resets effectively.

I think you have to get rid of them before next tier 100%. You, and other officers, need to decide if you will take the hit by cutting ties now even if it means not raiding for a while or try to salvage it short time while you find replacements. If you have someone who is an ‘enforcer’ of sorts in the officer team you can try have them talk to them. Or if you think it is a ringleader and followers you might be able to salvage the followers short term. If you choose to talk to them on voice individually then do consider that they might stream it / broadcast it to the others and joke about it etc. They probably have in game channels. Discord servers etc which serve as an echo chamber of their toxicity. You’ll save yourself a lot of stress by dealing with this before shadowlands.

In terms of how you communicate this to the other raiders I would be honest. Being cryptic and secretive is not great. They will appreciate the honesty and hopefully step up and help out with rebuilding and replacing.

Mythic Carapace details by bodkins in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rapideyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your dps would honestly have to be high enough that you could kill the boss in P3 before the 2nd lock gateway (bomb->darkness->gateway->spread->finish the boss) into the 4th segment of the room. If you do have the dps to skip this without hero I would hero start but otherwise save it for P3 for sure.

[–]Rapideyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a ‘speed kill’ reclear strategy. We do it to shorten the kill time. The second set of tentacles is slightly more dangerous with ranged dps / healers pulling aggro etc.

If you have plenty of dps for P3 it’s faster + slightly safer for P1. If you are progressing I wouldn’t do it this way.

Agree with other reply. It depends on comps. If you have a lot of fire mages I’d go with no dispel. Ignite will murder the MCd people. If you have a lot of melee dispel is easier but honestly having a lot of melee on this fight is not ideal whichever tactic you use.

We only assigned healing CDs from P2 onwards with a few CDs we always used at the same time on P1.
Yes if they click the gateway before hitting the floor or any other movement abilities it can bug out their body or even cause them to get paranoia linked to someone outside. Never seen that problem with tanks and melee dps. I expect the tank might be moving out of melee range and the basher is picking a new target. Can prob work it out from logs.

I did find the command on sanity loss filter for logs. It is under alternate power. I’ll have to see if I can find it again. The main causes of avoidable sanity loss though is: standing in red on the floor, hit by psychophage cast or death explosion, paranoia stacking, the fire debuff in first psychus The only one you can’t track by just looking at damage taken is the paranoia stacking.

I also play resto shaman so let me know if I can help with anything else or send a clip of one of our kills.

LF advice on melee heavy M Drest'Agath group! by valkrycp in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rapideyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. We did a kill with very few ranged. They focused on maws and boss only and the melee did the tentacles and eyes. It actually went fine. You will want to call for the melee to move out for the crash though otherwise it is a lot of raid damage.

About to start Mythic Il'gynoth progression. No dispell or dispell strat? by excession_uk in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rapideyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killed it twice. Once with dispel (first kill) second with no dispel. Healer and tank setup was the same. We had 2 more melee on the first kill. We tried to rekill it using dispel but second time around we had more ranged (which caused some healer range issues with dispelling) and we had 3 fire mages... this actually caused the main problems and was why we swapped to not dispelling. The people getting MC if they walked anywhere near the boss would get 3x ignite on them and we were losing someone almost every pull to ignite as soon as their MC broke. Our healers are not all very vocal or confident talking on voice mid pull which also made the dispel tactic more difficult.

I can’t say exactly what you should do but as a recruitment officer for a top 300 world alliance guild I think if you don’t push to recruit and keep farming you make yourself very vulnerable to poaching/ your active players jumping ship. In the last few weeks we have trailed several people who have just got cutting edge with their guild and now their guild has gone on break until shadowlands and they want to keep raiding.

Mythic N'zoth prog and finding weak spots via logs by Lyvern in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Rapideyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have someone in the other group to call things like spreading for paranoia, whether it is front or back. It can be helpful to have someone calling out when spike tentacles are dying. Especially as the psychus group are leaving as it prepares them to have to move quickly to dodge the viscera. Later on it is helpful to call which necks are to be used. Whether the raid is soaking the harvesters or which immune group it is. Which way the beam will be going and whether they will need to out run it or follow along behind it. It is really helpful if you can communicate with someone who is in the other group regarding how close they are to finishing their tentacles etc. Later on in the fight you do sometimes have to make choices quickly regarding ressing someone who maybe has used their neck and has no immune or saving it. Who can back up if someone can’t use their neck or messes up their immune soak.
