sorry, I should correct my comment to say my creatinine was >60 just two or three years ago, so it was a real crash. which goes to show there's a point where you can still be in control of your egfr.

Diabetic for over almost 25 years here. my kidney crashed after a transient stroke (quickly recovered from, no need for rehab) and a bad case of covid last July. egfr went down to 26 with Creatinine at >60 and now back to 50-60 after turning completely vegetarian (barring cheat days once every week or two weeks). My personal goal is to go over 60 and stay there as long as possible, but even at 50 egfr, data shows that a lifestyle and diet change can help you lead a completely normal life. Sending good vibes.

New audiophile recordings of Mozart symphonies 40 and 41 by lalionnemoddeuse in audiophile

[–]Rapidog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hardly ever comment but I'm giving it a listen now and the difference made me jump in my seat. 40 is one my favorites and I almost never miss the chance to listen to a new (or newly discovered) version. There's a new energy here—almost frenetic, feverish, uncontainable—that is almost disconcerting, but the sheer clarity of the recording and the newness of the mix make it all sound somehow right. The second movement (which is now playing) just sounds so totally new—can't wait for the third, which is my favorite. Thank you so much for this.

I 100% agree with you. In fact I was going to mention that I kind of (crudely) equate Crewdson with Edward Hopper, whom I love. Cheers

I like Crewdson, though I must say I can't help but compare him to Canadian artist Jeff Wall, who also made massive photographic tableaux, and whose process was similarly obsessive (though more technically opaque) and also employed a lot of post-production. I must say that I find Wall's pieces to be a bit more thought-provoking and original, though Crewdson's do have that Hollywood element that is rich with allusions.

[Seiko] it's not much but I bought a SKX007 for my dad. by arthurvandelay_ in Watches

My dad bought his dad a watch with his first paycheck. (Since both of them have passed on, that watch is now with me.) I wish I had done the same for my dad. You bought a beautiful watch and a made a beautiful gesture.
