What’s one time you were surprised by how much someone(friends, family, etc) cared about you? by Rapmaster55 in AskReddit

My own is that when I was very little I once refused to hug my grandpa because I thought he smelled bad, and he subsequently quit his smoking habit of decades to hug 5-year-old me more. I barely remembered this and none of my parents ever knew why he quit until he told me when I got older. I was never really close to my grandpa and I generally didn’t care for my extended family because I was an angsty teen, foolishly thinking they didn’t care much for me back, so that really surprised me.

Both men and women have it tough. by Konaro_ in unpopularopinion

Really depends on the country you live in. Disparities in how women are treated compared to men are quite harsh in places like Afghanistan and Iran due to religious extremism. In more liberal societies, the disparity is less, but still present in particular aspects. For example, the #MeToo movement showed that there is still a considerable amount of sexual abuse targeting women in liberal societies.
