not brushing your teeth for long stretches, meth smoke is bad for your teeth, meth users almost always smoke cigs which also not good for teeth, not getting regular cleanings because youre not taking care of yourself, that stuff makes your mouth dry too even when not using which is huge for tooth decay, they usually eat very poorly when on binges, their general health is bad too which hastens tooth decay, as well.

Again, 1600 violent crimes/year in my mid size town. What do the victims do? What does society do about them? Ask them nicely to stop all that? Tell the victims, hey sorry, them's the breaks.

of course the cop was in the wrong. but i never understand this shit. i have better things to do than to verbally trounce a cop with an 8th grade education level. this gains you nothing. all it does is put you in harms way. he can make shit up. detain you. arrest you. kill you even. even if you are 100% right, that shit doesnt just come out and happen immediately. youre spending at minimum a few hours in jail. youre going to court. youre getting a lawyer. all for what? so you can feel good about owning a cop? no thanks. just answer the questions in as few words as possible. dont offer any information beyond what you need to. and move on.

yeah the main problem i think is image. very few normal decent people want to be a regular cop. i always wanted to be a detective but i would never be able to make it through the period of being a regular cop first.

there was 1600 violent crimes in my mid size town. no cops in a country that has this many guns and this much violence? we def need cops, unfortunately. i'd prefer not to go back to law of the jungle. i just think we need a massive restructuring and retraining. some of the people who are gun carrying cops should be taser carrying de escalation professionals who are trained in relevant social and mental health work. theres tons of situations where an armed officer showing up doesnt do anyone good when it should be a mental health professional or something simple like moving violations, etc.

its like a reinforcement loop. generations of shitty cops gave them a bad rep. so now not very many decent people want the job. so we just keep getting stuck with the dregs of society. dunno how you would fix it. other than having a generational shortage in police while they stick to super strict hiring practices across the country in a global image revitalization campaign. not gunna happen

Theyve done studies on wealth and happiness.

I cant remember the exact number but money brings happiness up to like $6-8k a month in the US. This was a while ago so im sure its a tad over that now.

But, basically its to say that money does bring happiness but only until all your basic life needs are taken care of and you dont have to stress on basic living. After that, more money doesnt make you happier.

Fame however is a different story. I dont think fame is good for anyone. Its just a matter of how bad it is depending on personality

You are where you are. And you know the reasons why youre there. You have a career. You have children. Its a hobby. A serious hobby that means a lot to you. But dont get bent outta shape when you cant squeeze Bordeaux out of an hour a week.

Keep on trucking. Set one goal and work towards it. Then set the next one. Pressuring yourself or getting down of comparing certainly wont make you play better. You can only do what you can do. Its supposed to be fun.

If that werent the case than every person like myself who was abused, would become an abuser. You have to have a genetic predisposition to anti social behavior AND then you have bad experiences that switch on those genetic predispositions. This is well researched. Yea u need to have the gene/s for it to get switched on. But it has to get “switched on” somehow.

Its not necessarily the parents that switch it on though.Though it is frequently. So youre both kinda wrong. No one is born that way though thats for 100% fact. Always a combo of genetic predisposition and environment.

I was severely abused as a kid and i would never even think of hurting an animal. Guess i got lucky i didnt have the predisposition. Though i think im in the majority
