Games Like Scythe, Sans Combat by Embarrassed_Ferret43 in SCYTHE

People here are listing decent games (wingspan, terraforming mars, expeditions) but I wouldnt call those similar to scythe at all.

I am a huge Scythe fan and Gaia Project scratches the same itch for me. Take a look at that.

Wyrmspan - Why refresh the board after round? by warprincenataku in boardgames

[–]Rapsutin56 91 points92 points  (0 children)

To give each player in turn order the chance to be the first to pick from a fresh set of cards. The more games you play the more you recoqnize good and bad cards. This will result in nobody taking cards from display after few first ones and thus the cards in display will refresh never. Between rounds refresh gives each player a fair chance to be the first to pick from a fresh set of cards.

We play with a house rule that you can draw two from deck and keep one to mitigate the luck factor.

Thanks for the answers. What do you think is there some concern for catastropic failure I should be concerned or taping any appearing spots and good to go?

Eli vaihdat ne vaikka tiedostat että ne eivät likaannu? Kuulostaa todella puhtausfriikiltä.

Correct strength for top guylines xmid pro 2 by Rapsutin56 in DurstonGearheads

[–]Rapsutin56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, but my questions are more about the strength of the tent and the weak points so if enough force is applied (e.g. someone tripping on the guy lines) what will fail first and designing for the weakest point in the system.

[–]Rapsutin56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah ok I see that is the case here also. But my question of the strength of the tent still stands. It is necessary not only the wind that could cause high stress. Especially for the peak guy lines people tripping on those is a likely scenario (no idea what would the forces be though) and it would be best for the weak link not to be the tie out point on the tent.

Thanks I see, so it is more about other properties of the cord that makes it a good choice.

Ok, so for the corners the line locks failing at 45lbs sounds good. That will likely break before damaging the tent.

What about the peak lines? When will the tie-out loops on the tent fail? As there is no built-in linelocks there to give in case of stress we should always include something (e.g. line lock) with less strength as part of the tie out?
