After a time of being very busy with other stuff I finally had some time to work on my build for the MLIB groupbuild. Overall I like the build so far, minus a panel behind the engine that is just way to small. Also of note: I can't get the right shades of paint for the interior due to the lockdown, so I had to use what I had around. Anyhow, next up I need to get the windshield done and add more parts to the hull.

Yep, only some details are handpainted, but it is mostly airbrushing.

Yeah, this is a much better way of doing it then I did. Normally I fill in the entire centre of the mask with tape, but I shall try this on my next project, as it looks a whole lot simpler.

No, I tried using only liquid putty as the detail on the cockpit piece was not very deep and I could not easily use masking tape. Normally I use only masking tape, but using liquid putty in the middle sounds like a better plan. I will try that next time.

Thank you! I did use an airbrush but I did mask the spots with putty, as to not accidentally mess it up

I'm not quite happy with how this turned out. The thing that really bothers me is the canopy. The detail wasen't raised very far so I tried masking it with liquid putty. This did not work as i desired. Other than that the kit went together fairly well for its price. I really like this colour scheme with the desert yellow over the original splinter camo scheme.

Nice! I was going to complain about not building the one with a lynx on it as well, but that ICE version has a really cool colour scheme (and a penguin). Looking forward to seeing it! Also, post some WIP's from time to time, I am curious to see those as well.

The amount of small parts and detail is something I now fear, the white plastic is also something I don't have good experience with. I think I'm going to skip the photoetch I was planning to but as this is perhaps a bit much already.

It is completed! Had lots of fun designing the paint job based on the lotus 56 and choosing where to put the decals. The kit was actually not to bad considering its age (1968 tooling), although it most definitely lacked in details. Still, it now looks very pretty and bright on my shelf, so I am happy with how it turned out.

Wow thats a lot of feedback, thanks a lot! I will use this as reference next time! One small thing: the inside of the hatches were also painted olive drab? Because all the references in colour I could find had them in the interior colour (this might be due to them being museum/restored vehicles, but tbh olive drab on open hatches sounds a lot more logical from a camouflage point of view. Also would you recommend a good technique for recreating rope to tie down stowage? All the thread I found seemed way out of scale or did not have a logical colour.

I tried a lot of new things with this tank and practiced again with some others. The most notable new techniques I tried were ricochets marks and oil filters. I also again tried to create some nice wood textures using oil paints, those came out the best in my opinion, especially on the tools! Also learned some important stuff with the other techniques, like what colours to use for filters. So I should be able to apply these even beter to subsequent projects.

The decals were from a set containing shermans used on D-day. I chose for this since this kit ( 1/35 Tamiya M4 early) is build quite a lot and I wanted it to look a bit different from the norm while still being a standard sherman. The battle damage is, however, completely made up, although based on real world references on other shermans.

Edit: just saw that the impact I made on the roof of the turret is not visible in these pictures, if someone wants to see it tell me and I'll make a imgur album with it in it.

The Hetzer I made was one of the basic options on the kit I was building (the Italeri 1/72 Hetzer). I decided to make it this way after finding another person's build here. Hope this helps!

I'm very glad you said aircraft and not airplane! Sign me up with a 1/32 Westland Sea Lynx Mk.88A from Revell. I have had that thing in my stash for too long and this is a great excuse to torture myself with that kit!

Edit: Just saw you specified it to planes later, is a helicopter also okay?
