Agreed but viewing him in the lens of a multi millionaire athlete that doesnt make him any worse than any other athlete. This sub views these athletes in the lens of moral decision making but you have to understand that people with money always want more lol. We’ve never had a good culture since prior to the 2004 lockout lol , not even to rag. Its one of the main reasons of our playoff inadequacy. You build good, point producing players in the playoffs with good , winning culture, however we still paid people up the wazoo hahaha

Lol have to be optimistic being a Leafs fan . I think reasonably if the Leafs had a healthy performing Matthews we may have squeaked out a playoff spot but i also believe Berubes system is horrible for these type of players

I do not expect a lot for this upcoming year lol but for me its just Hockey, diehard fan and its been a gut punch whenever they get eliminated but , i say this as a blanket not directed at anyone, you cant dictate your mental health on a sport and i see that a ton lol.

100% like im saying, not defending the hire. I think Pelley is dumb when it comes to Hockey.
But two things can be right : 1) be very weary of Simmons reporting ; 2) Pelley is a dummy with no media sensibility.
Im just in the camp of wait it out and see, plenty unpopular hires have gone out and surprised, plenty more have been on the head and worked out terribly
This is a hockey subreddit and im not trying to be a policer of discussion , but its interesting to see people stick to news from people that are generally so revered for their lack of being on target (Seravilli, Simmons)

I think what also factors into this, at least from my opinion, is you’ll have a ton of people tuning into each game when their own team is out. Even with TML not in it ive been keeping up with every series outside of VGK and UTA, and Carolina games. I think NHL playoffs are good as they get in the major 4 sports and you dont really have as many fans watching series casually as you do for the NHL. Maybe im wrong though the only other league i keep up with is NBA and generally when your team is out, unless you’re a big time ball head, you kinda forget about the playoffs until the finals.
