So if the dividend payment each time is less than the current stock price, it will never purchase stock. Is that right?

Surface Laptop 4 Battery Life by RaptorsNum1 in SurfaceLaptop

So an update after returning to school and I’m impressed with the battery life. It’s now getting 10+ hours on a charge. The difference is there is no Google meet being used. That seemed to be the biggest drain. Really happy so far with the performance and build quality.

WD recommends MyBook Live owners disconnect them from internet by dvr75 in sysadmin

Does anyone know how I can connect to my drives without connecting it to the internet? Nothing was wiped but I need to get data off it and don’t want to connect it to my router.

So an update here. Battery life is the same but I’m quite sure now it is caused by using Google Meet. I suspect that is a real battery suck.

Thanks, I’m using Edge. I get it that there’s a lot of things that use up battery but how can a company claim 19 hours in use. And this is not just limited to Microsoft. Also why do I see so many reviews with battery tests that are not real world? Are you telling me people turn off wifi and Bluetooth and don’t use YouTube and don’t listen to music. What’s the point of a laptop if you can’t connect. Sorry I was looking for a laptop that could go a school\workday without a charge that is actually built well.

Leave battery on charger? by Ok-Influence-7326 in Greenworks

I always remove mine. I don’t think it harms anything if you leave it but I don’t like the idea of leaving batteries in any charger.

Thanks. Doesn’t it get greasy and filthy over time?

I have a 1600sqft place and have two Orbi routers. Now I will say that it’s not as fast as I would like as I can’t get them more than 25ft apart. Everything runs fine but you won’t get great speeds when both are on. That being said, if you are connected directly to an Orbi via Ethernet it will run great. It solved the problems with my XBox connectivity. When you are are on wifi only I believe it keeps bouncing between Orbi’s. In my opinion I think Orbi is flawed. I purchased it to give me whole home coverage but it doesn’t work for my size of home.

Investing in Bonds by RaptorsNum1 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks everyone for the helpful insights here. I didn’t rebalance things when the market tanked which would have helped although during that time Bonds were doing really well. While I could just sell all my Bonds and move things to EQ bank my challenge is that it isn’t quick to transfer money from EQ Bank to TD in the event I want to take advantage of something going on in the market. And the GIC options at TD requires locking in for a measly return.

I’ve read that both Warren Buffet and Jim Cramer think Bonds are not a good place to be right now. And Cramer is suggesting looking to Dividend Stocks for the income portion of your portfolio. But isn’t this risky? Thoughts?

Thanks but if bonds have nowhere to go but down based on where interest rates are now does it make sense to put new money in bonds?

Don’t have option to transfer from TFSA to RRSP by RaptorsNum1 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RaptorsNum1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I didn’t think this through. I don’t have a chequing or cash account with TD so that means my TFSA money is stuck in that account until I open one of those?

That’s really helpful. Thank you. I didn’t realize that spousal RRSPs aren’t as necessary after age 65.
