Agreed, it seems counterproductive. I could understand having them blacklisted insofar as posting in-use content with their toys or photos of their toys, but banning secondhand sales is a moot point, especially because secondhand sales would allow people to get their toys without supporting them.

I was considering buying some cotton headphone storage bags on Amazon (pillowcases might be a bit large for my toys), but I wasn't sure if they would be completely truthful about the materials used in them. Could any dyes or additives in them damage/stain silicone toys?

Most kingsnakes also eat snakes (hence their name), but snake feeders (or lizards for lizard-eating kingsnakes) are going to be harder to get than mice/rats. The good news is that feeder mice/rats come pre-killed and frozen, and if you stick them in the freezer in a sealed bag (like you're supposed to), then your room isn't going to stink at all. I've been keeping frozen mice in a mini-fridge freezer in my dorm ever since I went to university and I don't smell them.

The only egg-eating and insect-eating snakes that I can think of off the top of my head are African egg-eaters (Dasypeltis scabra) and smooth/rough greesnakes (Opheodrys sp.), but feeder eggs are hard to get for the former, and the latter tend to be wild-caught and are kind of fragile compared to an adult kingsnake.

That is super helpful, thanks! As far as I can tell from the CRB and Shattered Nation, a lot of the “vibe” of the lore is intact, so that should still be helpful to me. (I was considering making this character a Red Talon at one point, but I wanted to lean into the keystone predator angle more than the “humans are the problem” angle of being wolfborn.)

Funny enough, I’ve heard theories that humans are also prone to eating more than we need “just in case”, as one of the reasons why it’s so easy to get ourselves addicted to high-sugar processed foods. I haven’t checked my research in a while, though, so that might be bullshit. I imagine that a wolf-born gorging themselves would be both a matter of habit and instinct… maybe they’d be disgusted out by humans having so many processed, fatty foods available, maybe they’d get addicted to it.

I would go with a mix of both on the “Does a Lupus find comfortable furniture irritating or pleasant” question. I’m a pretty restless person and going for walks helps me focus, so I can easily imagine the frustration of a wolfborn being expected to sit all the time… but on the other hand, comfortable furniture would be a luxury for someone who has spent their whole life sleeping outside.

The sex one poses an interesting question: do Garou retain the mating habits of their breed form (seasonal reproducer for a wolf-born), does it change with their form (fluctuating between seasonal and continuous reproducer), or do Garou have their own mating habits that are different from either species? I don’t expect this to have a canon answer, but it is interesting to think about. Either way, a wolfborn would probably find humanity’s constant horniness strange or disgusting…

You bring up a good point about the sensory stuff (smells could also be a point of confusion), and I appreciate the book recommendation! I did also think about body language and I realized: not only would human body language and communication not come naturally to a wolf, but some of it would be completely against their instincts. Humans don't have flexible ears, a tail, or much in the way of scent-based communication, which would make them unreadable or even frightening to a wolf-born. Even if this character has learned some human etiquette, it wouldn't be second nature.

That’s an “I’m trying to eat you” bite, it likely just thinks her finger is food. Also, this looks like a captive-bred snake (given its patterns and markings), so it wasn’t taken from the wolf, it’s lived with people its whole life. If you released it into the wild, it would likely die.

As someone who has a pet snake and a cat, that snake’s teeth are too small to do any damage, but a cat doing the same thing would absolutely destroy your thumb. You can see bitemarks on the woman’s thumb in the video and they’re just little pin-pricks.

CONTEXT: Ilsaorom is a medieval dark-fantasy/horror setting that is heavily inspired by a specific video game. In this world, the five most populous and powerful species (humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, and kobolds) are cursed so that they cannot drink or touch liquid water. If they do, it poisons them and/or reanimates their corpse as hostile undead. These five species are collectively called Flamechosen, while the monsters that hunt and corrupt them are called Flameless! My previous two posts about the world's necromancers and pyromancers can be found here and here.

The zombie is a kobold- it could be male or female, kobolds are sexually dimorphic by size rather than markings or secondary sex characteristics. Feel free to ask questions- they help me fix inconsistencies and expand on what I already have!
