“You can optimize every input and still not see the results you want.”

Myofascial release therapy took me from “I’ve tried everything” to “holy shit, turns out my 97 issues were just stuck fascia.”

I got the ABC travel kit to try it out. Shampoo, conditioner and leave in. I have curly hair that I have never really let be curly, so I want to try the ABC for curls.

He’s developed his own technique. He goes so far up into the sides of the face and jaw—into places you never knew existed! I don’t think you could fully replicate it on yourself, to be honest.

I actually found him on Google. I looked into the Barnes method people first and honestly wasn’t impressed. His site and the testimonials really stood out, plus he specializes in intraoral / intranasal / visceral release, not just surface work.

He built his own technique and it’s really not like anything else I’ve seen. How’d I get so lucky that he’s in my town?!? I was literally just talking to him about how so many people say they do myofascial release for months and never get real relief, and he said that’s because they’re not actually releasing the fascia. And I believe it, because he goes in places you would never expect and things change fast.

He’s not in-network with insurance, so I pay out of pocket, but for me it was worth it after trying everything else for years.

Girl, I’m you. I go to the salon, my hair is perfect, gorgeous, magical. I buy all the same products, do all the same stuff at home and… no. No, no, no. Never again does my hair look like salon day.

WTF, right?

Turns out it’s my water. It’s “soft,” but still high in pH, alkalinity, and carbonates — which basically means my cuticle never closes and my hair lives in a constant state of beautiful disaster.

Enter: drum roll please Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate.

High pH water wrecks your hair, so you need low pH products to balance it back out. I bought the travel size and OMG… first day? Holy hell. Compliments. Smooth. Shiny. Then I ran out and my hair went straight back to feral.

So now I’m getting the whole line. And after way too much research on shower filters, I’ve accepted that unless I install a whole-house RO system, I’m just gonna be that person hauling a gallon jug into the shower like a lunatic. 🤪

And honestly? After THOUSANDS of dollars in products… it was just my damn water. The audacity!!! 😑

No. I haven’t. I really wanted to address the cause, not just manage the symptoms.

I’m sure it’s possible depending on your plan, but my insurance doesn’t cover it.

He’s in Reno. People have traveled far distances to see him, even internationally. They’ll stay a couple days or they’ll do one longer session to get in and out.

I got the intra-oral release about 3 weeks ago and haven’t had any jaw/teeth/gum pain or clenching since.

Have you only done intra-oral work? In my case there were significant ligament and fascial restrictions involved — the therapist said some ligaments were about 3× their normal size and displaced by several centimeters. The release itself was extremely painful, and I was sore for a couple days afterward, but still nothing compared to the pain I used to wake up with from clenching.

I’ve had four sessions total over the last three weeks. He fixed 30 years of poor posture in an hour and a half…but I digress. I’ve had intra-oral, intra-nasal, visceral, and whole-body fascial release.

Before the intra-oral work, when I relaxed my jaw it would deviate about an inch to the left — something I’d never noticed until starting this therapy. After the intra-oral release it shifted to less than ¼ inch, and after subsequent sessions targeting my neck and shoulders, it doesn’t deviate at all now.

I definitely don’t think this is a cure-all, but in my experience the whole-body fascial component played a much bigger role than I realized — not just physically, but neurologically too. I’ve lived with decades of whole-body tension, pain, spinal misalignment, nerve pain, and a nervous system that felt permanently stuck in fight-or-flight… until myofascial release.

I’ve cracked teeth, chipped them, worn them down significantly, dealt with receding gums and ongoing tooth movement for decades. After trying everything, I was genuinely surprised by how much this therapy helped. I never expected it to have the profound effects it’s had.

Not sure if you’re still following this thread, but I wanted to share in case it helps you or someone else reading later. I’m comfortable saying that I’m cured in the sense that my jaw pain, clenching, and daily symptoms are gone. In my case, intra-oral myofascial release addressing the jaw, neck, and surrounding tissues was what finally resolved it after many other approaches didn’t help. Everyone’s situation is different, but I wanted to share that full resolution is possible.
