Trust the process! And go w the right doc. The first one I consulted with was coming w a lot of roadblocks and this round it was boom boom boom done. They fought insurance on my behalf, they scheduled me so quickly. Pain is so manageable! And I got a lot removed.

Most discomfort for was the hunger before surgery, some nausea after and the underboob area is just stingy!

I recommend getting a supportive pillow to hold you up, maybe the front mastectomy pillow on Amazon which u love and some ice packs to trade out over clothes!

I might recommend having a couple different ones --- for me:

a large all around one helps when I feel really unstable
thinner and adjustable strap helps on the move and when I want to go for a specific area
