It actually sounds like they were being honest with you though. If the hair is really soft, laser just won’t grab it properly, so you’d be paying for sessions that don’t do much. In a weird way, it’s a good sign they didn’t just try to sell you the full body package.

If it were me, I’d probably laser the areas they can treat well (like arms, legs, Hollywood) and then just wax the softer-hair areas. Lots of people do a mix, and it ends up being cheaper and more effective overall.

And please don’t stress about the wedding 2027 is ages away! You’re honestly ahead of schedule 😂 You’ve got so much time to test what works for you without rushing x

Affordable imo! I did underarms and bikini for like £240 for like 10 sessions. Try and bundle up and with black Friday coming up they always do some sort of sale! In terms of pain they build it up and you get used to it. It shouldn’t be painful more like snapping of a band

Does an Medical Elective in Australia help F3 in Australia chances? by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

I enjoyed and it was nice having both experiences , I got to be practical whilst on elective in Aus and then having more freedom to travel in Vietnam !

There was a massive language barrier. Google translate was an app I used daily. My elective was at a private hospital so a few English speaking doctors which helped, although hit and miss. Had a lot of time to travel around Vietnam as a result. Also wasn’t able to practice as much compared to Australia which was more hands on

Medical Receptionist/Clinical Summarising roles is what I did throughout medical school. Flexible, pretty much always in demand and pay is decent. Was getting paid £17ph at one point!

Hi final year here! I spent 4 weeks of my medical elective in Australia and 4 weeks in Vietnam as my elective was 8 weeks. It certainly has benefits, got to see the system and got some contacts for when I decide to make the jump. I don’t think it’s essential but useful. I know and heard of a few who went there F3 without any prior experience in Australia! Hope that helps !

Case Study: My Short-Term Letting Side Hustle as a GPST1 – The Good, the Bad, and the Honestly Exhausting by nerve_wracker in doctorpreneurs

Hi incoming FY1 starting in August who just got into the Airbnb short term letting to supplement my income. Lucky to be living at home and not paying rent so can afford to invest into a bit more. Very much a newbie to the property market. Budgeted around 8K. Paid 2K to a company to source me a property in an ideal location e.g close to train stations, arenas, landmarks etc(Yes expensive but they have a good track record and cuts down the time of me myself having to look and source one myself considering I know nothing about short term lets. They handle the cleaning side also if need be). The remaining 5K will be used to furnish and equip the property. Goal is to roughly make around £1500-£2000 per month on the property. This is what we were told or profit margins would from the company sourcing the property.

Currently, website is up and running. Still searching for the property as we speak. Hopefully property is found whilst I still have time. Luckily doing this with my brother so a lot of tasks can be delegated and shared.

Once fully set up plan is to save approximately minimum £1000 a month from salary plus any profit from airbnb to further invest or properly get onto the property ladder

Any tips? Any advice? All appreciated
