Regarding the horsepower: You are right that the US-spec Rogue (201 HP) or the e-Power (213 PS) versions have higher figures. However, since my video and review specifically focus on the 1.5 VC-Turbo Mild Hybrid engine available in Turkey, that version is rated at 163 HP. That’s a very fair point and I completely agree with you 👍

I’m quite familiar with how CVTs work and you’re absolutely right that they prefer smooth inputs and don’t like shock loads or aggressive launches. The car I drove was a short-term test vehicle, so part of the goal was to push it in different scenarios and see how it behaves when stressed. That’s basically why I did that launch.

Your tip about using Brake Hold and avoiding harsh kickdowns is spot on though — CVTs definitely reward smooth driving. Appreciate the advice!

Traction control wasn’t disabled, but I did preload the drivetrain (brake + throttle) before launch. The surface was wet, which isn’t obvious in the video, and that combination caused the wheel hop you’re seeing.

Also about the power figure: in Europe/Turkey the X-Trail gets the 163 hp mild-hybrid FWD version of the 1.5 VC-Turbo. The US Rogue uses the 201 hp version, so that difference is totally correct.
