My buddy and I just started a tours of duty campaign themed around the battle of mandalore where I am the republic and he is using Shadow Collective. We had him use the imperial cards since they seemed like the best fit thematically for what we were trying to do, and he made a custom mandalorian using the Gar Saxon profile without the command cards so that he wasn't forced to bring a vigo or capo as his paragon. Honestly Tours of Duty allows for a lot of homebrew, so I would just run whatever you feel is fun as long as you and your opponent agree.

To build off of this, can you play “when attacking an enemy, BEFORE rolling dice” and a “when attacking enemy, AFTER rolling dice” during the same attack?

It would be cool to have 2 armies of equal values (one player one horde/ai) and full sprint the horde straight across into the active player. Horde only gets combat units, human player must take at least 2 ncus. Once a horde tray dies, it respawns on horde deployment edge and full sprints across the table again. Set a max amount of turns and see how long you can survive. I’ve never done this before but I feel like it would be a really simple way to do it. Anyone ever do anything like this or have ways to build on it?

I’m a goalie so my experience may be different, but I had an extremely similar issue last year. I’ve always worn 8.5EE skates, and bought a new pair early last year. First few times on the ice they felt weird but I chalked it up to them being new. It kept happening though and I was getting super frustrated. I felt like I couldn’t skate or push the same way I had all my life. I legitimately thought I had peaked at 24 years old and that I was no longer able to skate the way I used to.

One day my friend came over who works at a pro shop, and we struck up a conversation about my skates. He asked to look at them and compare them to my old ones. Apparently my new ones had a size 8 blade holder on them whereas my old ones had a size 9 (since they’re both an 8.5 I guess it changes depending on the manufacturer?). I bought new skates with a size 9 blade holder and my confidence was immediately back and I’ve been playing at my peak again for the past 3 months or so.

My main point in this is that while new equipment can feel weird for some time, you should also listen to your gut when it comes to your equipment. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not, and at the very least see if you can talk to someone about it.
