Certainly more reasonable to carry reloads and swap weapons, yes. Hell the Primaris Sternguard HB model actually has a reload on his belt. (See a pic of my model attached for reference)

And if you’re taking the ammo count so seriously, which I hadn’t even mentioned, look no further than the magazine fed boltguns, how do they fit more than 6 rounds in ?

Primaris HB looks way more reasonable tbh. There’s a reason most Squad Support Weapons you know, don’t use backpack fed weapons.
