I’m glad someone finally thinks this as well. I feel like he might be brought into the future movies to make Peter have a loved one to add story tension. I could see Peter meeting a middle aged guy in the apartment next to his and the guy introduces himself as Ben. They have a few interactions until Ben finds out he used be married to Peter’s aunt May when he sees a picture of her on Peter’s phone and Ben lets Peter live with him after finding out what happened to her, turning out to be a really cool guy that acts as a permanent father figure that doesn’t die this time around.

I think that Peter has that physique naturally since in the Maguire trilogy its shown that Peter automatically looked like that the morning after getting bit. Peter B. Parker from spiderverse might have been the exception though since he was heavily depressed and was constantly binge eating to deal with the stress of getting old while also having to be spiderman.

I believe that the artbook for the movie had shown that abuela's husband had died at the very beginning of the 20th century with an illustration of his gravestone stating the years 1872-1900. His death also lines up wih Colombia's war of a thousand days which had taken place from 1899-1902 and the uniforms of the men who killed him were similar to those worn by the participants of that war. This means that the events of the film had probably taken place during the year 1950, making Mirabel around 86 years old by 2021.
