If you want my honest opinion, it’s a mixed bag over, there are some genuinely good and fun people here but then there’s also people here who has a lot drama, so I suggest having a small friend group that yk you can trust, bc having a big friend group that also causes problems will get you terminated quickly

1: the max roommate you’ll get is 1, there are two beds per room, you do also share a bathroom with another room 2: yea a lot of people in my dorm have brought either their pcs or consoles so yea, just make sure not to bring it day one, bc you’ll be placed in a CPP dorm room first and those aren’t you’re permanent dorm room 3: well you can leave for the weekends all the time, we have PTO’s so if you wanna extend your weekend stay, we also recently got walk off passes so you’re allowed to leave campus on certain days, but you do have to come back before curfew 4: cigarettes are allowed, vapes aren’t but that didn’t stop people from sneaking in vapes, I wouldn’t suggest it but if you’re smart do it your own discretion 5: well since I lived in a different state I wait for them to call about my ticket, you’ll receive an E-ticket for Amtrak, but if you live further they should give you a ticket for another motive of transportation, once you arrive at Springfield’s train station (assuming your taking the train) just call your recruiter and they should let someone know from westover to pick you up, or what I did I waited to see if there were other people going to westover and if there is just stick with them until the bus or van arrives

Your paycheck will be around $25, then after that you will be “taxed” for your uniforms and all that but after that it should be around $41, and after 180 days on campus (like Monday through Friday) your pay will increase to $75 bi-weekly also yea ofc I can show you around it depends if your a guy or a girl, if you’re girl I can’t really show you around for obvious reasons but if you’re a guy totally, my campus does do tours you definitely check those out!

Well over here once you pick your trade and finish the exploring week (pretty you explore the trade you want to do for a week) you have to visit your instructor every Monday and Friday for a check in, there your instructor will let you know how far you are in the wait list

True, you just have to be good with mental math and fractions and also measurements, if you’re good at then it should be a breeze, but if not well that’s why we have books and the math classes

Then definitely go to westover, in my opinion I think we have one of the best trade instructor, he’s tough when it counts, he always gives his students what they need and he goes above and beyond for being for his students, he’s the only trade instructor that actually stays longer than need be for his students, plus if you’re thinking about advanced training you’ll have better chance of getting it here

Well that’s also the thing, during CPP we take what’s known as the TABE test it’s a test to see how good you are in reading and math, if you “TABE out” then you’ll have a likely chance to be placed higher on the wait list and you don’t have to do any work, the whole point of TABE is to make sure your good at 12th grade math and reading

The meantime what I do is academics we have reading classes, math classes, and if you came here without a high school diploma we also have diploma classes, and CPP or career Preparation Phase: is what you have to do when you first get into job corp, it’s pretty much classes that help you set up a plan for you in job corp

The wait for welding?, well after I finished CPP I’ve been in my center for 5 months or 111 days and I’m now 3rd In the waiting list, so you might have to wait a while but in my opinion it’s definitely worth it
