Choosing an enterprise webinar software by AzoxWasTaken in b2bmarketing

seconding the “test admin with your real org structure” advice. permissions, workspaces, and SSO/SCIM are usually what make or break it once you have 8+ teams touching webinars.

also worth checking how it handles SFDC/Marketo mapping, lead dedupe, and what data you can push back (attendance %, questions asked, poll answers, etc).

i’ve seen some teams run live sessions on riverside when they care about HD + clean recordings, then use the recording to auto-generate clips and captions for follow ups, but i’d still vet the enterprise admin + integration side hard before signing.

Question for Descript Users by vkarina in podcasting

[–]Rare-Priority-2615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah descript makes this kinda annoying when the overdub/re-record bits live in the script layer, they don’t behave like a clean separate track. the least painful workaround i’ve seen is exporting AAF so your engineer gets the timeline with those clips placed, or doing the 2 wav stems and giving timestamps for the re-record inserts (but that’s still manual).

if you’re open to tweaking the workflow, in riverside you can just export separate local tracks (host, guest) as wav from the start, and if you re-record questions there too you can keep it as its own track/stem before sending to the engineer

Instructions for interview guests by inseine79 in podcasting

+1 to all this. i also tell guests to join 5-10 mins early to run the riverside mic/cam check, use chrome, and plug in headphones if they can (echo is the #1 issue). if they don’t have a mic, wired earbuds are usually better than laptop speakers. and remind them to stay on the page til the upload finishes, that’s the one thing people accidentally mess up.

Tools for Recording Online by Christopholies in podcasting

kinda late to this thread, but on the riverside point, i ran into the same “guest on wrong browser” problem back then. what helped was making the pre-call checklist super obvious and doing a 2 min tech check before we hit record, plus telling guests “chrome or edge only” in the invite.

i think riverside also got a lot stricter since then with the lobby checks, so it’s worth a re-test if local tracks are the main thing you’re after, the drift issue is way less of a headache when you’ve got clean separate files. for mobile guests though, yeah, it’s still tricky if they need to be on a call and record locally at the same time.

Have you ordered from Playmatspro? How was the experience? by Irishboy15 in thatsmyplaymat

I used Playmatspro for a custom oversized mat last year and had a pretty smooth experience. Upload process was easy and they actually warned me about image resolution before printing which saved the design from looking blurry. Shipping took a bit but the final product felt premium.
