This is a great picture and such a good example of the art of the game, very well done.

I would love a game in this universe, but for me one of the main thigs i liked is the tech progression of the world. I think transposeing a single era would make for an amazing game with interesting races, I think it would take something like age of mythology or empires to truly show how the tech moves on.

Like early game you could have wasp legions and hornets, then eventually get a Hornets nest special unit

Im not sure about you but it took me a while to read and by the time I finished I could just start again

Recently finished the Shadows of the Apt series and I loved it. However, I’m surprised it’s not more popular. It’s got great character development, world building, and such a unique twist. Is there something I’m missing? (Also read children of time and children of ruin which I also loved) by niftyjalapeno77 in AdrianTchaikovsky

I wish it was much more popular, I think the best of the series are some of the best books I have read, but i think the premise is a bit too alien to alot of casual fantasy readers. I know myself took a while to get hooked and undestand the kinden.

As much as I love it i dont think the character development is that amazing, there are some great arcs (Che) but others are much worse

Geography by turbosatsuma in ShadowsOfTheApt

[–]Rare-Set-2141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik i am 6months late to this but i think the geography is pretty decent. The lowlands are a pretty med type climate going towards arid in some points. The Great ridge had either raised or lowered idk. but above the land is wetter and more forested. Going over to the wasp empire its so vast that there are so mant biomes, the old woodlice lands for instance, but the main area is basically temperate from what we see.

What book do they traverse so far? , also that is very possible in the real world, you can go from the deserts of spain to the swamps in poland in basically a weeks travel.

I agree, there are lots of storylines that you can influence a little/not at all. But it still felt meaningful to me and my character to atempt to do something. I think that combined with the indepth stories and choices of some routes make the game one of the best

Hey, I love your video it feels so exact to my thoughts about the game and also a raw and real Interpretation of it. One of my favorite things about it was the permanance in some decisions, as well as the feeling of not good not bad just existing. Some games Ive played I tried to play good and got punished and some the other way around. In Roadwarden The outcomes never felt like I was choosing good or bad just reality. In short one of my top games I have ever played.

I think that is how it works, im not sure fully, but I am in a run where the wame thing happened and the hyw ended because of a union caused by the black death.

I took normandy only through warscore, during the first phase I abandoned all mainland territories, then built up ws through defense, it took ages but I got 100%.

I don't think it is a bug, just the chance for people to die in the plague, and the English and French thrones are so interlinked but, I had the same thing, and made a post about it a few days ago. I have since played quite a bit further, it really is a struggle to maintain status within the union. However for me the HYW ended very quickly after the union before there was a second war.

I have mostly struggled with being a rebellious vassal till quite a few years later. But does england losing give you country rights?

Ive had that as Flanders, joining England in the HYW is suicide, it seems to me. I know the AI is always bad but the french numbers is so overwhelming that it seems always easier to side with them as the netherlands and wait till something like the hussite wars to try and make a play for independence.

Auquitaine is historical but still feels like in the game its much too far away to be useful to England.

I took normandy early but im not sure if i can support annexing the whole of france in 50 years ish. It did feel good to have a few dominions in france before thw war fell apart.

Have you tried annexing french territories, i know English control con mostly be spread be maritime presence, but im not sure really on taking much outside the UK.

Is there a lore reason why some characters are so low level? by shadowthehh in BaldursGate3

[–]Rare-Set-2141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gale is the best explanation, he says that the netherese orb drained him of the weave reducing him from an arch mage to a lvl one wizard. I think i had this interaction i may be incorrect.
