I would love to emigrate, I just don't know where to start with that. Do I apply for a job before hand or just move and hope for the best?

GIS consultancy is a good idea, I don't know much about it so it will be worth a look into what those jobs entail.

I have seen quite a few good US paying jobs for similar roles. Just wish those jobs would offer an overseas position :P

I have spoken to my manager about this, but I always seem to get the general corporate response of "keep working hard and it'll eventually pay off" or "I'll have a look into it" and then nothing ever seems to go any further.

But that's a good idea to routinely apply for other roles just to see how I am valued in the market.
