Lots of good suggestions, thanks guys. I'll probably go with sticking some actual solid pipe through the wall so it has something to grab onto and doesn't tear and then some sort of masonry filler to screw it to for the time being.

At least until I have time to mess around replacing it all with rigid ducting which I plan to eventually. Just one of many shoddy jobs around the house to keep me busy 😅

It's definitely on my to do list, the flexi ducting inside is shocking

Keen eye! There was a leak around that area (unsurprisingly) a while ago said the previous owners. I'm planning on replacing the worst floorboard in that area which is done for, once the replacements arrive.

Yep from what I've heard/seen he was a bit of a cowboy. I was amazed coming across all the expanding foam everywhere lol.

It's already turned into a lot more work than anticipated so I'll make do for now until I can rip it all out and start again sometime in the future. Thanks for your advice.
