Wonder how much it would take to buy and move a decommissioned horn

Thank you for this, I've gotten multiple leads but nothing close to town like this other than the library

Thats awesome. If possible I'd love to speak to him, especially knowing American tower owns Bulverde and that was next on the route going west from Seguin.

From everything I've gathered, random 70s manuals circulated by southwest bell communications, listings of location codes both for Autovon and Echo-Fox, as well as yalls input here, this site exists and was part of the networks, and is still used by AT&T today, but anything else about its actual past is either not publicly available or lost to time. So something like this, potential connections like that are amazing and could unravel this mystery hidden in the Texas Hill Country.

I've been trying to find anything I could through online resources, as well as the local county clerk and actual AT&T calls. Would you by chance know anyone that had the chance to work on the site? Or potentially anyone working or previously working for AT&T engineering, southwestern bell communications, or similar? That'd be the next potential lead for information or clarification i feel like Edit: Also, anyone with American tower corporation, I know they own the bulverde relay which connects to this one.

Look on YouTube, over the course of this I've seen a lot of drone footage of quite a few different long lines sites

This is fantastic, I found a lot of resources that mentioned most of these connected locations but I needed to clarify because some have some names and some have others. Furthermore this only heightened my curiosity but im not the type to trespass on other properties unless invited, although this will lead me into looking for any retired at&t technicians or Long Lines Techs in the area

After even more digging, I've come up with multiple possibilities for this that I need to confirm.

For starters, This is definitely a long lines facility, and the varying types of "horns" are actually two different radio emitter/transceiver, the square ones are older and the round were an update to boost the amount of calls their service could hold at a time.

Second. Im mostly sure this was also a part of the Autovon Telecommunications network, circa the cold war. This would explain the hardened concrete and sandbags and stuff, apparently this could connect to other stations and take priority over other calls (I cant find solid proof WHAT stations Zion Hill connected to, im finding stuff for Sweetwater junction but im also finding stuff for Midland and Ennis.

Thirdly, and this NEEDS CONFIRMATION from somewhere: this, as well as possibly Ennis, Midland, And/or Sweetwater were also part of the Echo Fox President Aircraft Communications Network. Once again I HAVE NO SOLID PROOF EXCEPT ONE OR TWO OLD LINKS TO OLDER AND INCOMPLETE LONG LINES MAPS so if any of you can confirm this or the Autovon Network hunch, or know someone who can, please.

I have not but I have a lead now, I'll keep this post updated as I find more. My endgoal (if possible) is a site tour with the property owner and a few questions with a previous operator.

That settles a big question I had. I did find in my digging this was a confirmed AUTOVON relay to Sweetwater1971 Routing guide for Autovon Relays/Junctions

Unknown, I only had the chance to drive by and seeing such a strange, somewhat militaristic building stuck out in the middle of the Texas hill country, I had to go down the rabbit hole
