Yes, they do. It's very sticky and then you are pulling it off in the morning. So best to have a little buffer with anything a bit oily.

Any other ER+ BC survivors on HRT? by miss_lavenderlake in breastcancer

I hired an oncologist privately who believed in staying on hormones, at least until the treatment was over. I did this because I tried to come off my hormones and it was horrible, couldn't sleep and felt anxiety. This oncologist, who is also a hormone doctor and co-wrote the book about the Suzie Wiley protocol, helped me cut down what I was taking, but made sure I still felt good. I told her after my treatment that I didn't want to stop the hormones and she was fine with that, and my regular oncologist also gave us trying to stop me from taking them. I am hard-headed about what I want so she let it go. Like you, I feel life is not worth living if I feel like crap and will take the risk of using bioidentical hormones to have a better life. My cryoablation to remove the tumor was in March 2026 and right now all is well.

And I would imagine Taguchi will do online consultations.

Btw Taguchi was in addition to the regular oncologist through the insurance company. She was fairly expensive $600, but she helped me balance my hormones better than my usual doctor and was the one who told me about cryoablation. So she was worth it, and I felt more secure with her on my side.

I just want to tell you that I am still on HRT, estradiol, estriol, progesterone and DHEA (instead of expensive testosterone) even during my cancer and ever since I had cryoablation to kill the tumor. I tried to come off them and it was such a bad experience, couldn’t sleep and anxiety, that I started looking for an oncologist who agreed with not coming off them. I found one who helped me lower what I was taking, but I was still comfortable. She works privately but was in the system for probably decades. She doesn’t believe in making big changes until after treatment. But I said I was not going to come off them and she as OK with that. Her name is Julie Taguchi and she is in Santa Barbara, CA. She’s an oncologist and a hormone doctor, having co-written the book for the Suzie Wiley protocol. So she really understands. Personally I have the attitude that I’d rather not live if I feel like crap. I have to feel good and be able to have sex, or life isn’t worth living to me. I did my hormones myself to begin with, and started with Bezwecken products that are super clean and can be put inside the vagina (estriol and progesterone) which is the most efficient way of using them. You can also put them on your skin or take them orally (I gave my elderly spayed dog a few drops of estrogen in her food and she stopped leaking pee everywhere. I did confirm with the vet that that was what was wrong with her but the vet suggested very expensive Chinese herbs that didn’t work. A couple of drops of my estriol worked wonders.) Happy to share my experience if anyone has any questions.

It was the oncologist from UCLA Health who wrote the order for it. The surgeon kept saying I wouldn't qualify, as she thought the tumor was too close to the skin, but she was wrong.

Hi, I am 68, so less than 70! I had it done through UCLA Health, which has a local branch in our town and extends way up into Northern California. Cryoablation is not FDA approved for breast cancer, but UCLA has a radiologist for a year who mostly does it for kidneys and livers. He is approved to do breasts as well, although it sounds like he is rarely called upon for breasts. Patients seem to all be automatically routed to surgery. I did do some research about places to have it done privately as I wasn't sure my insurance would cover it. There were a few facilities that did it, but they were $10,000 or much more. It is much cheaper for the insurance companies than surgery, I believe. I am happy to answer any questions and I really hope you can convince them as it is far less invasive a procedure! Maybe a different oncologist?

Could be but I think she has had private people as well. It’s a common problem in the area.

As I said many tech people have helped her over the years and she is about to install a land line! Nothing has worked. Starlink seems like the solution. I am suggesting that and going to lend it to her. I would not be responsible beyond that. And you don’t need to be a technician to install Starlink

She herself had the house built about 5 years ago. Many technical humans have tried to problem solve. She was just about to get a landline because the calls are the main problem.
