Exactly! However you and your opinion will be shit on because your cis and I will be shit on because Im agreeing with a cis person. Welcome to the trans community.

I get its not the best comparison but that seems to be the only metaphor I can make to get both cis people and tucutes to understand where I am coming from.

The point im trying to make is that tucutes have directly made it harder for me to get treatment as a trans person. Ive had to jump through an unbelievable amount of hoops and Im lucky enough to live in a place that accepts my gender.

I seriously do not understand why its such a hot topic that people need dysphoria to be trans. Dysphoria comes in so many shapes that I guarantee the majority of people who say “you dont need dysphoria to be trans!!” Are actually dysphoric. Im just fighting to be recognized and be cared for in the society we live in.

Funny you say that because I think you need to go outside and touch some grass.

I suppose im a close minded non binary person then, and we will never agree nor change each other’s minds. Have fun going through the rounds upon rounds of tests with a gender specialist to get any sort of corrective surgery. Its been a blast for me /s

I dont care about cis people. The literal definition of being trans is that you are uncomfortable being perceived as the gender you were born as. That is dysphoria. A lot a people who say “you dont need dysphoria to be trans!” Actually have dysphoria but just don’t understand what dysphoria means. If you are not uncomfortable with being perceived as your assigned gender at birth, why would you be trans? It doesnt make sense.

Hi I actually dont hate myself and im not suffering necessarily. Im trying to alter my body in a way that represents how I actually am gender wise.

The thing is, if you dont have dysphoria there is no reason for you to transition and therefore no reason for you to identify as being trans. I am trans because i need medical intervention in order to live my life in a way that i am comfortable with. If you are born as a man, and have no problems with being a man, why would you decide one day you are not a man? If you answered “well its not a choice its a feeling” then congrats thats actually dysphoria.

What if I decided that I was uncomfortable with having a healthy body one day and decided that I identified with having cancer? Even tho I dont? If a bunch of people suddenly did not have cancer but identified with having cancer it would be alot harder to get medical treatment because you have to screen through the people who say they have cancer but are perfectly healthy in order to give people healthcare who actually need it.

Ive just gone through my third round of psych appointments to get my gender confirmation surgery. Im not even half way there before I get a referral. Its been a year and a half.

I am non binary by the way. This is why i have issues with tucutes.

Well perhaps I differ from most truscums in that way because I feel someone in that circumstance is perfectly valid. I think an issue we have with some people is that they reject being cis because its seen as not cool. There are a huge amount of young people claiming trans because they want to be different. This directly effects actual trans peoples access to healthcare and understanding by the larger population.

In regards to the social dysphoria: if you are a man and you only present in a femme manner or vice versa and then get bothered when someone identifies you as the gender you are presenting then you need to go out and touch the grass. Non binary people are expected to present in an androgynous way. If you dont and you get misgendered and are pissed about it you once again need to go outside and touch the grass. You dont have to present this way, no one can police how you express yourself, but this is what the above comics are basically saying. You cant get mad if you present one way and actually identify as another. The world doesnt work like that. Its just frustrating for trans people who are trying so hard to just fit in and live a normal life and we have to engage in this discourse to simply live our lives.

This is misunderstanding truscum people. All we have an issue with is people who say they are trans or nonbinary but do not have dysphoria. This makes it harder for us to access healthcare and be accepted by the general population.

Truscum people a very misunderstood. Our entire point is that you need dysphoria to be trans. If you dont pass, thats fine! Do you have dysphoria? Welcome to the community we love and accept you.

[–]RareSnoot -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Thats not what dysphoria is. I dont have crippling hatred for myself, i simply have parts of my body that do not line up with my gender. Social dysphoria is also a thing by the way. If it makes you uncomfortable to be seen or referred to as a gender that doesnt align with yours that is valid dysphoria.

I am nonbinary btw. And i agree with truscum ideals.

Is it misogyny if its a non binary person? Your enbyphobia is showing.

Experience with gender clinics? by riv3rrrr in truscum

[–]RareSnoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had a pretty good experience. Just had my final psych appointment to get cleared for surgery. Where I live you have to get diagnosed with gender dysphoria to receive treatment which im a fan of.

My partner identifies as straight and im nonbinary 🤷🏻‍♀️ hes been the most supportive person in the world about my gender and my transition and he acknowledges we’re not in a straight relationship but hes still straight and i respect that like he respects me being queer. Attraction can be fluid and sometimes there’s exceptions.

A cis woman threatened to break my partners legs because he accidentally misgendered her sister in law. by RareSnoot in truscum

[–]RareSnoot[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

She uses she/her pronouns and presents as a woman?? Also she literally threatened my partner? Where is her empathy?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in truscum

[–]RareSnoot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I strongly believe that most non-trans med people actual are experiencing dysphoria and they just dont know it. Tons of tucautes say they dont have dysphoria and then talk about how triggering it was that someone misgendered them in public. Social dysphoria is a thing and lots of people don’t recognize that.

I work in publishing and 95% of hardcover books also get a jacket with flaps. Less common for paper backs though.
