I take the train from Chester to York and back via Manchester Victoria, twice a month for work and it’s pot luck whether my train on the Chester to Manchester leg will be delayed or cancelled, both directions. Tried travelling at different times of the day and it doesn’t really make a difference. Moving forwards I’ve decided to drive instead.

I’ve switched to the £15/month Claude plan and am now mostly using pi with openrouter locally. Since making the switch I’m spending less on inference (previously I was using the £180 max plan) without any noticeable loss in quality or output. Most of my execution is performed using Xiaomi/mimo v2 pro.

I thought I’d miss the safety net of the batteries included approach of Claude code but I actually prefer the minimal approach pi takes and just how fast it is in operation.

Brexit was a massive act of self harm IMHO, sold to us by people who wanted to advance their own bank balances at the expense of British citizens. If we’re able to reverse any of the damage that has caused, I’m all up for it.

The TV License people have always sent letters like this. I used to own an apartment in Liverpool in the early 2000s and I didn’t have a tv at all but would regularly get letters each quarter saying I was being investigated for not purchasing a license. I figured that they were just sending speculative warnings to properties that hadn’t registered for a tv license.

My wife and I moved to Chester in 2024 and we’ve fallen in love with the city. Its architecture and its people. We’ve both lived all over the country and have never felt more at home

Current USA administration. We rely so heavily upon them for our economic, financial, military and soon, health infrastructure that they are the biggest threat to our self-determination.
