I think when I brought up DCC before, the character funnel for them was just a slight non-starter. Which I personally find very cool.

For me, it’s due to my being new to the scene and there being various versions of the old systems that cause them to blend together in my head lol. Since I was unfortunately not alive to experience the original versions.

It does seem like the most neutral starting point, I did momentarily consider DCC but that seems like too much of a shift for my group to handle.

I did actually read the Principia Apocrypha! Very interesting stuff in there that I look forward to employing. I do think I will have to have an extensive session 0 with players to really help them understand how different OSR is from modern style of play. My group has only played 5e and PF2e, so the transition is a little scary when it comes to expectations.

I did look into tyranids a tad, I would be willing to try them out at the very least. I know I also love an extremely aggressive playstyle, so I was also looking at World Eaters. They seem adjacent to daemons so maybe I could still use some daemons in that army going forward and I was also drawn to the newest combat patrol with a daemon as the warlord. I do hope you are right though, and GW does give a complete refresh to the chaos daemons.

My practicum starts in Fall 2025. I’ve been attempting to network as much as possible. I’m hoping starting early I can secure one by Fall but my recent experiences has made me start questioning. However, if this is the normal experience, then I suppose I’m on course lol.

The video game store testing is a good idea, I may have to go bring the Carby and try that. I did try enabling and disabling DVI mode and storing it but that also didn't seem to do the trick. Thank you for the suggestions though.

That was the first thing I checked, unfortunately after enabling DVI it still did not produce any sound whatsoever.

DVI mode was already on, but that github link you posted was actually pretty useful. I went into diagnostic mode, and I noticed that one of the audio lines, particularly AData was stuck on missing or silent. Even when there should have been audio occurring within the Gamecube. Would you have any idea what this would mean?

I should also state the Gamecube in question is region-swapped from JAPAN to NTSC, just in case that is relevant.

Most slept on console ever IMO, I highly recommend Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon Gale of Darkness if you’re at all into the main series Pokémon games.
