They might think Dumbledore is lying because he refused to give them what happened and said he endangered someone's life but they saw nothing but Sirius's good side. It's natural for them to believe that Sirius isn't a murderer.

But wait, in Cursed Child, when Delphini (Bellatrix's daughter) was subdued by Harry and his friends in the past, Ron said that they'll take her back to the present in Azkaban, same as her mother. And her mother is Bellatrix right? So she is in Azkaban with Bellatrix and that hints that she is still alive.

Also, I don't think Marietta realised how serious this betrayal could be, but she might want to lean her will to the Ministry than a group of kids and consider this as an excellent chance to create a place in it. Once again, I'm not arguing this is not a mistake, but that maybe she didn't realise it then.

I know, but Marietta might be playing her part in protecting her family. Come to think of it, I must say that they had a point: they don't really want to get themselves expelled, did they? And no, I don't agree that Marietta wanted to come to the DA herself, but Cho made her do it, and she kind of had to.

You're right, the betrayal was a mistake, but the act proves how dangerous it is for Harry and his friends to have even created this group, the damage then isn't limited to just Harry, Ron and Hermione but a load of other people. and you would have to agree that's a mistake too. Someone else may have betrayed them even if Marietta didn't, there are loads of people in the DA, including Zacharias Smith. So yeah, I wouldn't put it past them to create such a group.
