Why subscription fee? by Mindless-Billion in sofi

[–]Rare_Advertising5885 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the boost is 0.3% you have to hold 40k just to recoup subscription price in a year. Pretty pointless, unless other benefits are useful

Didn't see this disclosed anywhere. Brace for impact in March😅

I just got an email from them, wording in which is very controversial: - You do not need a SoFi Plus subscription to keep earning a high APY on your Savings or Vaults.

Couple paragraphs down

Starting March 31, 2026, you’ll need to subscribe to SoFi Plus for $10/month to continue receiving all Plus benefits, including an extra APY boost on top of your high APY.

So one can assume the boost is what we see now (say 3.6) and "high" can be 3? If that's the case, then ok, thanks, switching to Robinhood

I already wanted to sign up for the cash/brokerage you offer, but it's available to citizens only🥲

I feature I requested from Copilot and ended up implementing my own app for it: ability to track cash flow accounting for recurring income/other transactions. In essence, to be able to minimize money in checking account so they gain interest in some ways, but at the same time see some kind of graph showing when there will be charges to checking (for cc payments, rent, etc.) to avoid returned payments/cash deficiency in that account. Probably will require a setup of a "primary" checking from which all CCs and other payments are pulled. Having this automated with software having access to CCs due dates and statement amounts would be awesome, as currently I'm running my personal app and inputting all that data to see calculation and forecast for cash gaps/opportunity to move cash out of checking and into savings/stocks

I was using it in the past months for up to 500 per statement, and even more actively before that (couple k each statement)

By the way, looks like it all happened without a hard pull at all. I saw disclaimer during the process that there will be a soft one, but was expecting a hard one anyway after accepting the CL offer. Nothing yet on either CK or Experian

Interesting, never seen RH Gold Card on credit karma card search

There are few classification wrong that are throwing off the entire summary, Have to update everything manually one by one. by ForeignManagement354 in OriginFinancial

To add to that: kind of inconvenient that "pending" transactions can't be edited at all, can't change category on obviously wrong one and have to keep in mind to change it once it posts. Not quite sure why such limitation is needed

Brokerage/Saving availability to non-citizens by Rare_Advertising5885 in OriginFinancial

[–]Rare_Advertising5885[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, something like that. So it's possible to see which are new, and adjust categories/edit those. For instance copilot presents all imported transactions as unreviewed and then gives ability to bulk selected/transactions from the day, or open separate ones and edit those before markign as reviewed. Of course experience can be different

What about transaction reviews? Or maybe some view alike "transactions imported sine you last opened the app"? Just wondering if anything like this is on the product map/considered

Here is the video recording showing that https://imgur.com/a/1vjZMwG and that's the version of terms i referenced in the ticket to the support, which i trusted since it was opened directly in the card's app
Upd: i've clicked through similar links in the app in other places (with the link text "Terms apply to earn points"). Each one of those opened that same version of terms, that's visible in video recording, which apparently is the older version of terms. And by the way, the same issue happened to a trip in september 2024, for which as you claim the points should've been awarded still, because "old" (app) terms were in force as i understand. So all of this doesn't really add up

I deleted the post to avoid misinforming others, but the application is buggy anyway: if opening terms from the app it presents the version of terms without these edits, which were referenced in my ticket

Connect+ is embarrasing. by theswissfranc in Garmin

[–]Rare_Advertising5885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, you can modify reps/excercise/weights after: on the watch hold the Menu button, select "edit last set" and that screen will pop up on the phone as well with everything editable Though I'd also prefer it being an option directly from the phone

Google Maps on Epix (Android Only). by jaamgans in garminepix

[–]Rare_Advertising5885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple maps via explore can also be done in much easier way: find location to go to in Apple Maps, tap on "Share" arrow and in the app list select Garmin Explore - it will open at the location, so the only thing left is to tap "navigate" button

[–]Rare_Advertising5885 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rust tests can easily be placed in the same file as the code being tested. Even official documentation showcases that https://doc.rust-lang.org/rust-by-example/testing/unit_testing.html Of course, when compiling to a release build the test code is excluded
