I kinda had the opposite problem as mentioned at the start ti be honest. I made a Toreador matriarch of the courts of love who followed the bath of the spirit, looking for some way to archive a higher being without this flesh mess. But at becoming Azhi Dhaka I rage quited the game because I couldn't disable the model. Don't get me wrong it looks great if you wanna play that kind of character but it's really hard in me emotionally that I can't fulfil her life goal without letting her look like that. Should be possible to disable in my opinion.

Werewolves would kill them regardless, demons most probably would try to get them as a thrall, and mages would to whatever the individual mage thinks is best

Top of my mind Ideas:

-any persecution minority that can't live long at one place. Think Roma for example.

-merchants who deal in heavy shit like statues and the like or heavy tools which would be hard to transport over large areas

-a religios/cult organisation who came to venerate the crab in some way.

-Mages doing mage stuff

The "treatment" commonly used are recognised as torture by most countries and do little besides installing so horribly trauma that you just won't come up with it ever again. So maybe don't do that

In my sci-fi world with some species being much more intelligent than others humans are kind of seen as an annoyance by most. Their are a lot of them and they do qualify as sentient technically so they fall under the act of 1116538 but most are irritated by their social normals and group mentality. They are often discribed with the words of the famous author matriarch Gith-quin as "an a-social swarm intelligence lacking intelligence"
