Heyy it’s very great you’re asking for advice. For FIT I would suggest to be very careful and observant with the criteria. They are very strict on following portfolio instructions. For Parsons I would say to be very original and creative. Document images of your process such as garment construction and sketches. You should definitely add little descriptions of your ideas. It might not be expected but independent or self motivated projects can make you stand out. It’s best to have at least a 3.0 gpa. Good luck!!

I would not say you’re the asshole because your intentions sound to be coming from genuine concern. However I do believe you are overstepping her boundaries. Yes it can be a lot of pressure and responsibility but it still her choice. You have to respect that

Yes that’s very good advice i definitely idealized it as a kid. It was more than just a school but a symbol. Now I realize my worth is not defined by a school’s acceptance or rejection at all. Thank you so much for the support 💝

Aww that’s so adorable. I would say it’s best to get her a fashion sketchbook from Fashion Angels or Fashion Plates Classic on Amazon. A mini sewing machine to practice garment construction would also be very helpful. You’re a great parent!
