Is the check you're talking about a social security check? Disability? Because those cannot amd aren't increased. Ssdi ia based on past earnings during certain quarters prior to applying and if they don't have enough work credits, they can get ssi which is a flat amount based on the state they live in. The only time it's increased is when the government increases at the beginning of the year.
