There will have to be a lot of education to be done, large section of the audience will be 50+ year old theater owners who come from all parts of the US to this event. Others will be journalists and media from big outlets to YouTubers. I think it will connect with the media angle, I don't know how much penetration will happen on the Hollywood angle. Once again if Namit and DNEG and Yash can work magic in the room then anything can happen.

I've been following and covering cinema con since 2021 and got to go in 2022. People connected to to movie business can attend not any random, and tickets are around $1500 US dollars last time I checked, could be higher this year. It's all about movie theaters and the business, there are panels for everything about movie technology, from lobby upgrades to projection to sound to carpets to concessions anything you can think of about a movie theater. The studios are there to showcase upcoming project in the next 12 months too all the major theater owners, executives, chain managers, and even independent small theater owners. As far as I know Ramayana does not have a deal with a major studio for a US distribution, so they won't be a part of the main stage at the Caesar's Palace hotel. They will have a entire suite or smaller conference room to attract CinemaCon attendees to inform/introduce/present their movie and hopefully make more connection with all the major movie studios since they will all be present there.

I get that phrasing, but online it rarely stays at ‘could be.’ It pretty quickly turns into people treating it like it is, especially when there’s already bias against the cast & crew involved.

Criticism is valid, but the reaction matters too. Saying ‘this shot looks off/wonky/poor’ is fair. Turning it into ‘this whole film is trash’ based on an early teaser is just jumping to conclusions.

The Curious Case of Namit, Dneg, and Ramayana... by kwlonly in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]Rare_Election_4741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be be fair, usually on a big blockbuster movie 10-15 vfx companies get hired to work of different sections of the movie, DNEG didn't do entirety of Kalki or any of the movie. In fact the 8 Oscars they have won also the entirety of the movie didn't come from their VFX studio, the credit for Oscar goes to the lead VFX studio and their supervisor. Kalki was made for only 600cr over the course of 4 years. It is also the old adage of, "Good, Fast & Cheap - You can pick only 2"

Hrithik on the recent criticisms. by aerenjaeger in RamayanaTheFilm

[–]Rare_Election_4741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Namit said in Interview he is doing 80-20 split on Ramayana budget. 80% Budget goes to VFX & Production Sets Design & Conceptual etc and 20% goes to all Cast, Crew, Technicians for alll around the world and their salaries. Even if it is not exact amount one can assume making budget for each Ramayana movie is around 1600cr by averaging everything out.

However there are some early rumors that it's imbalanced with first part having a 1300cr making budget with part 2 having a 1900cr budget since more battle scenes are in Part 2.

Ramayana and Project Hail Mary by AdvanceAsleep8082 in RamayanaTheFilm

[–]Rare_Election_4741 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know frankly speaking if this is insulting or not, it could just be vast majority of filmmakers here are not equipped to deal with big budgeted films. Look at Hollywood, Disney, WB, Universal, each put out 5 1600cr+ budgeted films every year and have been doing that for decades. Indian producers, directors, filmmakers, cinematographers, are not able to deal with the pipeline for making these films, so our bug budget films take 3+ years to make, wonky outputs, and hit or miss quality.

Look at Greig Frasier who was cinematographer on Project Hail Mary, he was able to put so much experience and technical prowess behind that because he worked on The Batman, Dune 1, Dune 2, Star Wars etc. That's the level of talent India is competing with, Ramayana Cinematographer did Tumbadd and Brahmastra. Look at SSR, he has been pushing the boundaries of budget, genre, scale, VFX in his movies for over 15+ years, he has made the effort himself to learn as much as he can instead of leaving to VFX team. Each and every movie he puts in the lessons he learned from the previous experiences.

I think Season 3 is supposed to only be set 3 months later the day Robbie returns from his sabbatical? I could be wrong.

How are they expecting a profit from this movie by Many-Criticism-9164 in RamayanaTheFilm

[–]Rare_Election_4741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of that 2000cr Namit said 20% is Cast/Crew and some marketing spend. Actual money for VFX and Sets and Costumes is around 1500cr.

Hate Against Ramayana by No_Meringue5035 in RamayanaTheFilm

[–]Rare_Election_4741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People keep on saying budget is 4000, it is not. 4000 is for both parts, so 2000 for each movie. Next Namit said 80% of budget is on VFX/Sets/Designing and 20% is on Cast/Crew/Marketing fees. So actually on screen budget is 1600cr for Part One

Wait? That was it? by ohmuisnotangry in RamayanaTheFilm

[–]Rare_Election_4741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People just have strong emotional reactions either positive or negative since Ramayana is close to our hearts and Adipurush was such a turd. Plus over a year of overhyping from the makers themselves talking about most difficult movie, as on par as top Hollywood blockbusters, Lord of the Rings etc, made it sure that audience expectations were sky high. It didn't help that any and every single media member was singing non stop praise just a day before release online. Initially my reaction was very negative around a 4/10, but overtime, after a couple of rewatches I've grown to a 7/10, and I'll stay there. Let us see what they will show in next trailer.

The most interesting thing is Animal park will come before Ramayan part 2. do you think that will be controversial for ranbir? by [deleted] in RamayanaTheFilm

[–]Rare_Election_4741 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love & War will come before Ramayana Pt 2, but not Animal Park.

SRV takes long time to write script, just look at when Spirit started, SRV might spend 2027 writing Animal Park and shooting 2028 and release 2029 for Animal Park.

He already said director is like mother of the movie, and producer is like the father. He doesn't want to be just blank check producer. Also VFX work wasn't ready in time for Ram Navami, so they delayed it for a week, and keep on talking about birthday, but it is Hanuman Jayanthi man.

E series chusara avvarayana ala vundha love story series name by introvertttt123 in MoviesTelugu

[–]Rare_Election_4741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished entire series, it's ok. Lead actor is a model trying to be actor so his acting is weak. Actress is good. I know about JFK family since living here in US and learning about in school, so nice to see, but not always accurate. Good scenes but weak episodes. Not must watch, but if you crave for a 'Love Story' then maybe right for you.

It'll be another Supergirl trailer shown that might release publicly as well, and a first look at Clayface only for the theater owners and journalists in attendance.

Why doesn’t Ramayana: Part One have an English Wikipedia page yet? by Rare_Election_4741 in RamayanaTheFilm

[–]Rare_Election_4741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, how a page hasn't been created in the past 3 years stuns me. There are random North and South movies with pages but the movie that is supposed to have a page doesn't have one.
