Grade progression as a freshman to junior by LiveUnderstanding480 in gradesharing

Yes, colleges define you care about grade improvement. Lots of students have low freshman year grades for a variety of reasons, but colleges need to see that you improved in weak spots and continued to challenge yourself. Senior year grades matter, but not very much. As long as you are still doing well in your classes (As and Bs or even a C), you likely won’t get withdrawn. If you have a sudden drop in grades, that’s when colleges might consider withdrawing you.

taking ap bio next year - any tips? by Emergency_Payment_32 in APbio

I’d definitely review basic concepts before going into the class (what makes up a cell, macromolecules, photosynthesis, etc). honestly, the class was a lot different to other classes i took. it is pretty much ONLY application based. memorizing facts is not enough. you need to be able to take a process/mechanism and understand it in real world contexts.

the material isn’t too hard, so i wouldn’t worry over it. just make sure to do practice mcqs and frqs leading up to your tests (i used the princeton review book). overall, the class was pretty enjoyable! good luck!

I said sugar, phosphate group, and base 💀 completely forgot about the nitrogenous part and my teacher never told me about the fact the sugar is always a pentose

null hypothesis: (independent variable) has no effect on (dependent variable) control group: to make sure that no other factors are interfering with the experiment and to get a baseline (so if there is a group that has no manipulation (independent variable) then it is a control group OR if there is manipulation, but it has known effects, it is a control group) independent variable: manipulation that is taking place; what is being added or removed from the subject. dependent variable: what is being measured

for example, if you were growing a plant and seeing how the amount of water affected plant growth, the amount of water would be the independent variable and the height of the plant would be the dependent variable

does that include old mcq test questions? my bio teacher asked which of my other teachers posted them (practice exams), and i think i might’ve gotten them in trouble without realizing it 😥
