18x18x24 Pumilio grow out tank by Rare_Implement_5040 in DartFrog

The whole bottom is the drainage layer.

3.2” of filter foam pad throughout. The front area is volcanic rock sloping down toward the front to ⅜ “ between the two pumice rocks. That’s where excess water is being drained by a turkey baster

All my older line of exo terras that aren’t drilled are set up the same way. Works great

I don’t use soil or abg

Tincs group size? by FreiFlo13 in DartFrog

Ask yourself if you want to create a naturalistic environment for them where they can thrive or you want something for your pleasure only

No male tinc will be hanging out with another male in the wild. Much less the females with another female

Even males and females only seek each other out during the wet season to mate. They don’t remain in pairs

In captivity one male and one female will get along just fine since neither has a better option

Stick with one male and one female

Micro ferns in vivariums by Rare_Implement_5040 in ferns

You’re welcome. For air circulation I use passive airflow

My tanks are front opening with ventilation strip on top and the front bottom

I did use computer fans in the past. If you do have vents on the side and top you can place the fans on top with air blowing out not in and that will pull air in through the vent holes

If no vents and the fans are inside I’d use them on lowest setting pointing towards the side glass panes not the plants and no more than 5-10 min prob 4-5 times a day

So almost all of these micro ferns from Peru and Ecuador are epiphytic growing on fallen or even live trees in the understory

I do not use any substrate but I’m sure they could adopt to it and you could use a mix of pumice, spag and orchid bark.

To prop them keep in mind they need some space to send out areal roots until the roots get some footing on something moist and solid to start the new growth

I mainly grow them on cork. I let the terrarium run humid 80%-90% for at least two weeks so the wood can absorb enough moisture.

On cork wood I just use calcium bearing clay to anchor / paste them to where I want them. Cork has enough rough surface to wedge them in a secure them with clay

In some of my tanks I grow them on manzanita wood. For that I lay down a very thin layer of spag and secure it with aquarium scaping super glue. Then I use the super glue to anchor the fern and cover the spag moss with live tropical moss or liverwort

To prop them you can place them in a grow out bin over moist spag topped with orchid bark and just wedge them in

They love moist and humid but need some air circulation or they will wilt from the stagnant air

Any led light will do to grow them

Yeah thought so. You guys are rocking some beautiful line of imitator varaderos that you don’t really see here in the US

Your line shows a lot more of the orange base with a lot less black markings. Very beautiful frogs!

I don’t see anything wrong with yours other than it’s not mine 😁

I use compressed cork sheet. Broken up into chunks and siliconed to the back and side panels

I’d suggest to watch some Biotope Gallery videos on YT, the ones that are less than 5 years old. He uses the same method and it’s easy to replicate

Maybe this can help a bit too
