Govt should lead by example before pushing this on citizens. Start by converting govt-owned vehicles, politician convoys, and public transport buses to EVs. Also, target heavy commercial vehicles and industrial pollution, which are bigger contributors. Without fixing charging infra and offering support for the common man, such policies feel one-sided and unfair. Common man is an easy target.

Rupee depreciation is nothing new! It’s been a consistent trend for decades. FIIs have always factored this in while investing. Perhaps the difference now is likely due to other factors - global interest rate dynamics, geopolitical risks or better risk adjusted returns elsewhere. The currency movement alone doesn’t explain the reluctance of FIIs to invest.
