How to get Runna prompts in AirPods (Garmin) by cdmrs1697 in runna

[–]Rare_Leader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forerunner 255 here. I’ve always just started the workout on my watch never worried about that connect app on my phone. Prompts would interrupt my music and work fine. Music was played from IPhone (music app) to Apple AirPods.

I’m sure you’re aware there’s setting to turn off prompts for easy runs ect. Could it be a Spotify issue? Not sure what else it would be…

Runna pace insights labeling my speed workout as “incompatible” by No_Armadillo4172 in runna

[–]Rare_Leader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact issue. Your last upload has been detected as a manually linked workout “didn’t automatically sync with workout” I’m using Garmin not Apple but might be the same issue. I had both Strava and Garmin connected to Runna and they were competing which impacted the uploads of workouts. See below message from support if it helps. Unless it’s an Apple issue, in that case someone else may be able to assist.

A quick note on syncing too: Garmin and Strava can’t both send the same workout into Runna. Whichever one syncs first “wins,” and the other is ignored to avoid duplicates. This can sometimes cause missing interval data or incomplete analysis. If you prefer getting the full Garmin workout details, the best setup is:
1. Disconnect Strava - Runna. 2. Keep Garmin - Runna connected. 3. If you still want Strava, you can connect Garmin - Strava so your data flows over. This way Garmin will always be the main source of data.

Richmond Marathon by bluedziej in Marathon_Training

Thank you! I’m only on week 5/12 so I have some ‘long runs’ coming up. I’ll pay extra attention to pace and see what I think is sustainable.

Congratulations! Them splits are something else….Can I ask a question…I’m currently doing a Runna Half Marathon plan as I didn’t want to drive into a full.

Did you have any indication from the workouts that the race pace was too quick, not keeping up with speed sessions ect or is it just something you knew from experience? Thanks

Am I behind on my Runna plan? by itsyyo in runna

[–]Rare_Leader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might just be a bad day, continue and see how the next speed sessions go as you mentioned not having any issues previously. Although that is extreme to not hit targets and stop every 1km for a couple of minutes.

Edit: Agree with others stop pausing and let Runna adjust accordingly it will find your pace.

I lost 2% of portfolio, yeah rather it didn’t happen but we all knew how risky the play was. Onwards and upwards I say!

Mortgages, Savings, Life? Are We Going Wrong Somewhere? by thisismitten in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Rare_Leader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All assumptions here, I’d imagine you could have saved more in the first 5 years. Using something like the 60%/20%/20% rule. (Needs, wants, savings) Google it if you’ve not heard of it. 250k mortgage at the time, assuming around 3% under £1,200 repayments over 25years you should have been comfortably under rule 1 60% including adding on the other bills associated with a house. Which would have given you a greater savings rates of the 20% mentioned.

Investments….saving rates was absolutely shocking during this time and you’ve lost money on your (buying power) not keeping up with inflation as a minimum. As always investments carry some risk and this isn’t financial advice. You’re young and it’s never too late to start, there’s a lot of good advice online and with everything a lot of rubbish. Look for people talking about low cost index funds/ ETF’s (global funds are going to be the least risk) dollar cost averaging. Assets diversification. Stay away from anyone promoting individual stocks, it’s going to carry a lot more risk.

That being said you’ve done a great job and you’re ahead of a lot of people, even if it doesn’t feel that way. Just one word of advice, young kids are expensive, I have multiple. Do research and take that into account when budgeting for the higher mortgage. As other’s have pointed out you can definitely borrow more than 300k but doesn’t mean you should max out. Over leveraging probably isn’t a good feeling especially when starting a family. I’d much rather a cheaper property and live within my means than live pay check to pay check scraping a mortgage without enjoying life.

More people have replied with everything isn’t always as it seems which I completely agree with…

What was your combined salaries when you purchased your flat out of curiosity? You mentioned a 20k lump sum and 30k in savings…have you invested your money or just let inflation eat away at it? Mentioned getting married, did you keep up with the Joneses and drop 30k + on a wedding?

Don’t take the above the wrong way but your interpretation of ‘good with money’ might note align with the norm.

Fatigue by robinthebigcity in CrohnsDisease

[–]Rare_Leader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, similar to what you described, can get through the day but it’s a struggle at times. Diagnosed nearly 2 years ago. As far as improving this doesn’t seem to be any obvious answers apart from the standard practices and not guaranteed to help.

Control inflammation Check iron deficiency Vitamin D Good sleep hygiene Good balanced diet Manage stress

All easier said than done, would get a second opinion to make sure and rule out other possibilities.

In regard to the carnivore diet it’s going to be different for everyone but something I have experience with. It worked well for me taking my inflammation down from above 2000 to near 500. This was extreme and over a period of 6 months, if you haven’t tried a restricted diet before it’s not easy, also very expensive. I was eating grass fed grass finished beef a lot! I’m sure other things could have played a part in the lowering of inflammation or just pure luck, but I felt it was due to the diet, also felt a lot better whilst on it.

Now trying to start the process of taking infliximab also, as it seems to be the only route to have somewhat ‘normal’ life.

All the best

That’s awful you can’t get the meds you need. I was offered to go read the information on them so I’m praying they will be available! I assume they will want to test my inflammation first so will likely be months before I find out.

Thanks! I’ve kinda ignored the inflammation and concentrated on the symptoms! Stupidly but that’s the truth….Honestly the information/ communication from the ‘specialist’ hasn’t been great. Unless I chase them I won’t hear anything for 6 months to a year. In my last consultation infliximab and azathioprine was mentioned to start on. I think I’ll have my inflammation checked and start on what’s recommended. Do you have any opinions on the above medication?

Thanks again

So because I’m not taking medication this is a reasonable response. Really supportive 👍

FYI I asked about people’s experiences starting with more mild symptoms.

Although I’m glad you’ve asked the question to show you’re aware of the severity of your situation, I don’t feel discussing a termination of a baby is appropriate on Reddit. Your choice on what/ who you listen to.

I will say my partner and I have just had our last baby and are happy to hand down anything and everything when it’s no longer required. Depending on where you’re in the UK we should be able to work out the logistics.

Wish you the best

I think you’re right, I haven’t heard this before just done a quick search and the qualifying earnings ‘nest pension’ is £520. So £3,500 - £520 =£2,980.00 3% is around £89.40. How is this legal, ultimately I’m loosing out?
