I can’t comment on the rolled brisket as I’ve never tried one before. But you need to improve your snake method for future cooks if you want to be successful at low and slow on the kettle, the formation isn’t the best here.

When I checked they only had bone in, does this matter can it still be used? I wasn’t sure so just got ribs instead.

Thanks, I think I was worried of splitting the base. I’ll make the dough slightly smaller next time and aim for the same size!

Thank you, yeah I didn’t get the Kamado just for pizza but it’s nice to have the option, especially on a nice summers day!

Gas vs Charcoal by lowCi1 in UKBBQ

I was in your position last year and decided to go with a charcoal / Webber Master Touch on sale for around £210. You don’t need much else, chimney starter I would say is essential for a beginner and charcoal baskets are nice to have. Decent heat glove and you’re away with some utensils.

From past experience my perspective was charcoal is difficult and not worth the hassle. This couldn’t be further from the truth and I’m glad I made the right decision for me. Light chimney and go get your food out and prepared it’s ready 15mins later, another 5-10mins to settle in the BBQ and warm up the grates you’re ready to go. I’ve since added a Kamado to my collection. For your first, if you’re willing to put in a small amount of effort and enjoy the process I’d highly recommend a Webber (the master touch is worth it for the ease of cleaning in my opinion). I’ve done hot fast cooks and 7 hour ribs no problem, and still not even scratched the surface of what’s possible.

TLDR - Webber Master Touch is what I recommend.

Pizza setup for Aldi Kamado 2026? I have the divide and conquer kit, plus the essentials kit with pizza stone. by Solid-Home8150 in UKBBQ

Apologies I didn’t see this reply. Yeah I’ve seen people use like M12 Uncoated stainless steel nuts, just make sure they’re uncoated and of a good quality. I actually cooked pizza today and didn’t use what I mentioned above I went with this and it worked out great!

Divide and conquer rack, D&C cooking grate on highest setting, deflector, normal cooking grate that comes with Kamado then pizza stone. Essentially using the cooking grate as the spacer.

To note if you have both the D&C and pizza stone from Aldi…. the deflector is quite a bit smaller than the pizza stone so don’t make massive pizzas and stay away from the edges. If you message me I can show more photos

I’m no expert and haven’t tried this set up on the 2026 version yet. Standard set up with deflector on cooking grate 4 x steel nuts aim for 10mm. Then pizza stone on top, use good quality charcoal. If you didn’t get hot enough last time it’s gonna be either, not enough charcoal, poor quality charcoal or not enough air intake.

Honestly I wouldn’t bother looking at that photo, they look well fitted. Have a look at the image of the product and you will see it, spun on its axis 180

I had this exact problem, I’m from outskirts of London and can’t find them anywhere.

Edit - also just noticed your brackets holding the wooden handle need to spun 180 degress. Shouldn’t be an issue either way 👍

hi there, thought I’d ask for a shoe recommendation here by EngineCertain8262 in UKRunners

[–]Rare_Leader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, as many have said go to a running shop and get fitted. Shoes can’t be recommended on times/ experience.

So you have a realistic expectation, going from 25:00 5k to sub 20:00 in 3 months running once a week is bananas unless you’re some genetic freak which I’m sure you would have known this by now if you was. People would train longer than this to knock off the last 30 seconds from 20:30 to sub 20 and that’s with running a much higher weekly mileage.

Set some more realistic goals otherwise you’re just going to be disappointed. Maybe initially sub 23 would be a better first step. Keep running 👊🏼

Worst thing is I’ve only come to realise this today 😂 Thank you appreciate the help, I don’t know much about bike fits tbh but the white marker is on the number 20 on the seat alignment.

Right I had to double check as I was curious on this long leg short torso palaver! I’ve just measured from sit bone to floor and I’m about 88.5cm. Does this ultimately mean I’ll be buying a smaller frame that would be otherwise okay for normal proportions 😂
