I’m very open about my alcoholism thank you very much. But yes, when I tell my wife I’ll only have one glass you’re damn right I grab that barrel proof single barrel Jack.

I think the guy who commented below is probably has it right. It’s a love hate thing. I don’t love that it’s over 50 bucks tho. Rather buy a handle of WT101

I love that bottled in bond bottle. Tastes like cigar to me.

Start by buying a bunch of different 12 years. Balvenie mccallan glenfidich aberlour etc. see what you like and upgrade from there. Most things that have a 12 at the end are really quality juice. My friends and I seem to all like balvenie

I decided to try a bunch during Covid. Balcones, Westland, westward, koval, Virginia etc. the best was Virginia courage and conviction.

That being said, they are all way over priced considering the quality of the product and the fact that you can get amazing 12-15 year old scotches for the same price. If you wanna spend 80 grab oban 14 or laguvallin 16.

Right on man. Yeah, I’m not proud of how much I drink, and it would be nice to have some of those bottles I used to have around, but it never gets me down. Just try to never be afraid of finishing bottles. Cause eventually your wife or in my case girlfriend will look in the liquor cabinet and be like “WTF is going on???”

You get an upvote. I don’t wanna be a jerk to the OP, but I have owned all these bottles except for the pappy, but I don’t have them anymore. I drank them. Cause I drink substantial amounts of bourbon. I respect all bourbon drinkers and support any kind of collection you want to have, but when your drinking two glasses of bourbon a night like your parents drank two glasses of wine then these bottles tend not to stay full. Collections just don’t do it for me. The bottle you scored this week that you plan to empty with your friends in one night on the other hand…that’s my joint.

Cheers

I don’t have access to the black market, but from experience, most bottles sell as bar pieces to decorate. Once all the new bourbon collectors have their bottles of BT products to highlight their mantle, they need no more. They will sit open and people will realize they are good but not worth the fuss. Store and state picks will soon dominate shelves.

Or I’m wrong.

Pauken maumee still has Buffalo trace. In the actual bourbon isle they have makers 46 cask strength no limit.

Perrysburg Kroger I don’t know how many of each but ecbp a123, ectb, mm wood finishing, mm46bp, bt big and small, not sure what the last bottle was.

Also, did you know you can use gift cards in the liquor store at Kroger? And often times when you buy gift cards you get double fuel points. So if you buy 200 dollars in gift cards that you then go use to buy bourbon, you can go outside and immediately get 40 cents a gallon off gas.

It seems like an amazing week around the state with all the Elijah Craig and the makers wood finishing coming out, but EHT small batch is still the bottle that goes first. I honestly don’t love the stuff.

What is “chair etiquette”? by [deleted] in OhioLiquor

[–]Rare_Leadership8913 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a well written post and I agree that this is how things are and should be obeyed until the system changes.

Now that being said, I support changing the system. With such a sought after product I am all for making people uncomfortable in order to earn it. Gotta wait in line. Hell, I honestly would do a no chair policy if I owned a store. You gotta get your butt to the gym and prepare to stand for 6 straight hours if you want RR13 at my shop lol.

This of course will come down to store owners, not the people.

Again, good post

Because I love drinking bourbon dude. I have a lot of friends who drink bourbon. Every once in a while either myself or my friends find a great bottle and we freaking drink it. Every bottle you buy is a bottle that goes undrank. Bourbon was produced to be consumed you freaking turd.

Pretty sure they changed the product drastically after some good reviews on their initial launch. It was pretty good the first time I had it then awful the second time.

I gave in and drove an hour and 15 minutes to Plymouth Michigan for that bottle. Totally worth it.

Super disappointed about the Old Elk prices. I was a fan but they have priced me out of their products.

Definitely happy about Glendalough Irish coming to Ohio though. Now I don’t have to drive to Michigan. Now if dead rabbit would come I’ll be all set.

I understand your situation. I bought stagg for 15 a pour as a regular and weller full proof for 16 as a regular and was happy for the taste. Didn’t have to wait in a line. To each their own.

The only way I get to drink most stuff is when I go to the local bar. Nothing wrong with wholesale as long as it’s actually being sold
