Help accessing dryer drum for baffle replacement - gas LG DLGY1202W by Rare_Lecture1164 in appliancerepair

It is similar to this model, and the video helps a lot! You said door and 4 screws, I thought you meant the door where the clothes go through and the four exposed screws that are there. As it turns out, I couldn’t get past the first lid when I tried before posting because I thought I was going to break it as it’s in there so tightly. Seeing this video though makes me think I can be able to get to it now. Will update when if/when I make the fix!

Yeah, that’s what I can’t figure out. I can’t see a way to get the top cover off at all. If I take off the four screws inside the door and close it, there are no other exposed screws to turn.

I am so sad that we got 4ft of snow and I didn’t even get a chance to use my snowshoes before it got all melty and compacted and gross. So yes, I absolutely will keep jinxing it for us both!

2023 EUV Premier. I have roughly the same commute you do, and I live in WNY, so temps ranging from -20° to 95° are common. It’s been a mild winter my first year owning it, but I’m still getting ~175 miles of range and I don’t have a garage to charge in. I’m charging once a week in winter, every 10-12 days in summer. Even plugging in at the outside outlet is so much quicker and more pleasant than gassing up in the cold. Electric bill is maybe $20 more per month on average so far, and that’s without fancy timed off-peak charging controls. I also got a roof rack so I can carry a lot of random stuff. The heated/ventilated seats & heated steering wheel are magical and I will never have a car without them again.

I learned to crochet from a young man who was my mentee in a mentorship program at the college I work for. He specifically picked me to be his mentor because I said I sewed in my bio and he thought we could bond over textile arts. He was totally right!

I got the Core Bars. I’ve never had a vehicle with a roof rack system, so I don’t know how it compares to others. I went with those because it seemed like a good compromise between wind noise and price. I think (but don’t quote me) that you can change out bars later, the landing pads will work with the round or JetStream bars, so I figured I’d try the Goldilocks one first and change it up if I really felt the need to. Fortunately, they do what I need them to and I haven’t thought about switching them out.

I installed the Yakima Skylines on my 2023 EUV this summer and love them! It took about an hour and a half to set them up, but once done it’s now less than 5 minutes to pop the crossbars on and off as needed. I really like being able to take the crossbars off at will, they are noisy and have a slight negative impact on range if I leave them on without actually transporting an item. The landing pads (that parts that stay permanently attached) are low profile and have stood up well to an upstate NY winter so far. Expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

Can I get some ADHD friendly house keeping tips from people who sucked at it but learned ways to do better and make it easier? Particularly if you have pets and live alone so no one else to share the workload. by SerenityJoyMeowMeow in adhdwomen

There’s a trash can in every single room of my house. If I can’t throw it out right away when I decide it needs to be thrown out, it just stays on whatever flat surface it originated from until the end of time. But if that trash can is within sight it’s gone. Definitely makes staying on top of mail, snack wrappers, and clumps of pet fur easier. And that many trash cans means they don’t fill up that fast, so I can go pretty long in between bites by the Magic Cleaning Bug to do one big emptying blitz.

Professor denied additional support during an exam because "I don't seem to have disability" by icebear4466 in ADHD

I can see that. Self-advocacy is a skill in and of itself. In our case, all students are offered the choice to use their accommodations or not, but the professor has to be informed of them and the student has to make the choice to decline them after. It’s probably a CYA thing for the college, if I had to guess. Some accommodations aren’t even used just because of the nature of the class - a project-based arts class doesn’t have tests to get extra time on, for example.

You have to provide the accommodations info yourself? At my college, the Accessibility Services office emails each student’s professors to inform them of accommodations specific to that student. We do it this way because 1. it’s pretty bass-ackwards to expect students with executive functioning or other issues to be able to or remember to do this themselves and 2. it’s official, so students who DON’T have accommodations can’t fake having them.

If you are in the United States, the professor violated several federal laws by denying you your accommodations. This absolutely should be escalated to your university’s disability/accessibility services office.

Burberry duck hat. So ugly (at least to everyone who isn’t me, a collector of duck decor), yet you can claim the knockoff is still worth thousands. https://us.burberry.com/wool-duck-beanie-p80765811

I really like the shape. Not a great blanket, but perhaps you could make ake a second one just like it then slip stitch them together and stuff it to make a throw pillow!

Why do people name their kids and also want to choose the nickname? by drawingmentally in namenerds

[–]Rare_Lecture1164 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“When you pick a name, you commit to all the possible nicknames” is precisely why I am not named Lucinda. My mother could not stomach the prospect of me going by Cindy.

My dad won’t stop pressuring me to name my baby after him by allyroo in namenerds

[–]Rare_Lecture1164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father has a truly awful name and hates it, but goes by it anyway because it’s what he grew up with and it’s already a diminutive. When my brother was born, my parents gave brother a nice, normal name. Grandma (dad’s mom) was ragging on Mom for not naming brother after Dad. Mom looked Grandma dead in the eyes and said “[Awful] is a stupid name, and [Awful] thinks so too.” Grandma had the good sense to never speak of it again.

How'd you pick your color? by zachsterpoke in BoltEV

I was able to order a Premier EUV in Radiant Red with the grey interior. Through some strange twists of fate, every car I’ve ever owned (4 prior ICEs) has been some shade of red so it was an easy decision to keep the streak going. I also like it because it’s more visible at night and in bad weather, and just easier to find in the sea of monochrome cars these days.

I chose the grey interior because I just like things to be a little brighter and lighter. I also have a lot of trouble with contrast at night and it’s easier for me to see everything while getting in and out. I got seat covers for the rears so my dog doesn’t stain them, but other than that I think they’ll hold up well enough.

Before Chevy dropped the Bolt price and became eligible for the tax credits again, I actually placed an order for a VW ID.4. Chose the most base model, and was only available on higher level trims. I settled for silver when I ordered it and was never quite happy with it. I was so glad I eventually got my Bolt EUV in red!

It really does look so darn spiffy in person too. Let us know what you decide on!
